I had discovered Real Jock through Google search, I clicked on a link of a thread which took me to Real Jock forums. I looked at the site and seen the workout and fitness techniques. I looked at some of the exercises that I could do at home and incorporated them into my workout. Eventually, I decided to join the Real Jock community.icon_biggrin.gif

I came here because it's a gay fitness site, which combines my gayness with my abs.icon_biggrin.gif

Google search as well. The forums on RJ were my first actual experience with posting to an online community. It's been interesting to watch it evolve or somewhat devolve over the last 8 years. These forums have seen a lot of great participants come and go.

I had been regularly visiting outsports.com and saw links or mentions of RJ there. First checked out rj as possible source of guys to date. That quickly proved unrealistic. But stayed for the forums. In particular, the "running log" forum is good. I wish more people would post to it. Gives me a chance to record all my runs somewhere other than facebook (where they would bore my non-runner facebook friends.). It would be nice if we could search rj proficles by age and user name.

True for me, I went on gay.com a few year ago, but I find it boring and not hardly anybody goes on the site. I am losing weight and bodybuilding.com focuses too much on building muscles and I don't want to build huge muscles, so this site is the best, combines social, fitness, and community which so far other sites can't beaticon_biggrin.gif

Grindr might be good for me, but there is NO fitness to the site and more of a hook-up site.

I had been visiting the site over the last year to read the topics and discussion. Although, I hadn't joined previously due to the severity of certain conversations but ah well.

I am very glad I joined since I think it'll be good for me.

I've said it before... I totally got catfished by a troll on match.

When i called him out on it, he confessed that he lifted the pix he was using from a profile on a site called "realjock".

Found he site, joined so i could meet the guy whose pix i'd been lusting over... He thought the story was funny and we're still buds.

Came to find one real guy... Stayed because i met so many more.

I also like that Real Jock has a verification process so you can fight the fakesicon_twisted.gif I wish gay.com or others has this process. I go on gay.com and go to a random profile and use google images and it turns out about 1/8 of the time, a model, an actor, or pics on tumblr.icon_sad.gif

Here if I do the same thing, even on profile photos that is not verified, nothing on google pops up.icon_biggrin.gif Sometimes the profile on Real Jock pops up that is their own.

Other sides should do the verification of profilesicon_idea.gif

I knew about this website when I was still in high school. Then I made a profile when I was 18. I deleted it and made a new one twice. As far as how I actually found out about it? I can't remeber. I think I google searched "gay men's health."

The design has changed since. There used to be more peach/tan rather than gray. But there were always reds.

In the beginning there weren't that many profiles. I've also seen profiles come and go.

I had only been here for a month and even I seen a profile came and went, he was from England and I had commented on him and the dog. He was only on here for less than a month.

I seen some of the threads on google search, so maybe this thread even would be on google.icon_wink.gif You can read thread when you are not logged on, many view are likely to be via google.com search.icon_smile.gifThey find out it is a site for gay menicon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gif but some people are gay and want an alternative to apps and hookup sites and don't have the funds for a paid gay dating site which still don't have fitness tips.icon_idea.gif Join Real Jock.

There are other profiles on other sites that do the same thing. Disappear and come back with a slightly different profile name.icon_confused.gif PWRTOOL to POWRTOOL2

I remembered before I joined; I was looking on the threads from the outside. The Real Jock logo was a man running and stated Gay Fitness.

I'd like it if they had some regional forums (New England, Mid-Atlantic, Dixie, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Southwest, etc.) so that you could have some discussions with guys in your own region, as well as nationally or internationally. They could do the same for Canada, Britain, Australia, and some of the other countries that are represented on here.

Someone somewhere, whether it was at the gym or maybe a GNC suggested that I take L-arginine as a 'natural' way to control blood pressure. So that's what I was searching when I stumbled on RJ. And here I still am, and still a troll after all these years .... five of them actually.

Googled it years ago, searching for gay forums. Liked it and joined it. Looks of fitness tips and the nice shaped bodies.

Found it on Google. A couple years back. Joined to come to terms with myself. Made some great friends along the way. Had some fun. But im just a ghost of the past ready to move on at this point.

All the people I've met have either moved on or dont post. I'd like getting aquainted with some new people but it seems the trolls kinda drive most people away anyways. I'm just ... kinda good.
