Ok, this is kinda random but I've been watching clips and older meets of Divers from the Olympics games/Meets around the world. Damn, they're all so sexy in their short little speedos. icon_redface.gif Anyone who's into divers here?? Post up some of your favorite guys. icon_smile.gificon_redface.gif I like the French guy Mathieu Rosset. icon_cool.gif

I've never seen so many pictures of divers at the same time. They all look very fit, including even the older guy with gray hair.

Fun Fact: David Boudia is a devout Christian
    Tom Daley is bisexual
    Matthew Mitchum is gay
Greg Louganis is also gay and HIV +

It's a rather "diverse" world, if you ask me.

    - Tom Daley is dating Dustin Lance Black, he came out last year already right? Matt Mitcham just married his Aussie boyfriend, if I remembered correctly. Yeah, Greg Louganis is gay and positive. He was sorta before my time.

    - This is a random question/observation, why are most male Chinese divers so good? They spin/twist and the way they dived into the water, there's like no splash at all. China wins almost every meets against the US, UK, Russia and other countries. It's like this in male Gymnastics too. Grr, some country just dominates a sport. I guess.

Why are Chinese divers/gymnasts so good?

Because if they fail, they'll be executed... icon_twisted.gif

Or sent home to a life of hard labor for pennies an hour...

Nice pics posted above. Rather than focus on past Olympians though, I thought I'd showcase a couple hotties to watch for in Rio, 2016:

The chinese are so good because they usually are plucked early in their childhood and sent to a school specifically dedicated to the sport. Same with their gymnastics.

Another British diver hottie - Christopher Mears, Daley's teammate. I like him, he's cute and can spin/twist in the air too.

Ya, that and also because their body frames are generally smaller yielding a lot of flexibility and a higher strength/weight ratio. Kind of like why younger girls excel in women's gymnastics.

Yes, I remember it well. I was there in the stands when it happened (if I freeze frame the video I might be able to pick myself out).

Louganis was not only keeping his HIV+ status a secret, he wasn't even out at the time (to the world at large, anyway). This was probably wise, back in 1988. The Korean government at the time was requiring blood tests for any and all homosexuals who wanted to attend the Olympic Games, and anyone testing positive would have been denied entry to the country. Of course, there was no test for homosexuality - so if you were like Greg (and me), you just kept your mouth shut and went on your way.

World class male divers and gymnasts are predominantly gay, but most of them have waited until they're finished competing to come out. Even these days it makes sense if you're going to be competing all over the globe. No athlete needs the kind of shitstorm that could ensue if you show up gay in the wrong place.

Oh, and here's a joke that was making the rounds of the Olympic Park in Seoul, at the expense of another heavily rumored athlete:

Hey, did you hear they took Carl Lewis's gold medal away? Yep - they found a trace of Greg Louganis in his blood! (cue laugh track)

Hm, I didn't know that about the Korean government banning positive athletes. Yeah, I agree, most male divers and gymnasts are gay. (Wasn't one of the Hamm brother, Morgan or Paul Hamm gay??). My theory is that they don't want people to concentrate on their sexuality, they want to win first then come out later. It's kind of like a celebrity coming out phase.

They didn't ban positive athletes; they banned positive humans. They were primarily concerned with HIV+ spectators infesting their country. I'm not sure they ever really grasped the concept that an Olympic athlete might be poz.

They did take precautions, however, by famously making condoms available to athletes in the Olympic Village (a first, I believe). They were called Olympic Condoms. I wanted to bring some home as a souvenir but was unable to procure any.

    Nice interview by Barbara Walters.

The Korean government wasn't the only one to have such a ban.

I would really enjoy a similar thread w/ gymnasts (someone said some of them are gay, is that true?) or w/ wrestlers (not the pro ones).
