I probably need to unlock my mind about drag queens because those pics did not an enjoyable visual session make for me! icon_eek.gif

Nothing unexpected because most women age to a point where, without makeup and hair, they look like men. That's why I think most older ladies make regular trips to the salon for hairdos lacquered into place for weeks.

The story makes me wonder if we are seeing the last of an era. Seeing that there is only 1 gay bar left in an area that used to have 12-15. It makes me wonder if 10 years from now there will be any left.

He still looks good even on his show.

True, but Black people age better than Whites in general.

Wow. I told myself I wasn't going to watch that because drag queens already freak me out, but something possessed my finger to click on that play button and watch the whole thing (I kept thinking it might get less scary.) It didn't. That was more disturbing than Silence of the Lambs. Seriously. Why do gay men do this shit???

It is my hope that people can be creative, play, and be happy with themselves no matter what outward appearance that may choose to take.

It's not just a job; it's an adventure, sometimes ending in sad.

Well, that was a tough story. Even if not lonely, though it certainly came off that way, life can be so lone no matter how much you've loved if only because the longer you live, the more they die off such that the last one left wins what, memories? With no one to reminisce? Well that sucks.

Even as we are gaining human rights, as we pour out of our closets, it's still tough enough for guys attracted to guys to live openly. Just imagine how it must be for a guy whose orientation is being attracted to drag queens. Which would probably be the pansexuals, omnisexuals. Where's his acceptance in the world. What are the odds of a drag queen finding someone willing to risk outing themselves. The DSM still considers that a perversion, a disorder, not a legitimate orientation.

So for now at least, and probably for a while to come, no matter how much on stage they live, theirs seems a closet in a closet. And I just googled drag queen married to check my assumptions. Found a few brave souls but nothing in abundance.

So if that documentary holds true, then it's not just Beautiful by Night but also alone by the end of the evening. Sad.

For some reason, when I watch these videos, I feel great respect for these drag queens. I wish I can interview some.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidThe drag queens could have used a professional artist to do their makeup. These guys kinda do a half ass job on their faces and the end result looks less than show-worthy and like a badly painted clown face.

and clowns scare the shit out of me. always have.

Female impersonators/drag queens today look more like clowns or sideshow freaks than anything. I'd prefer a more tasteful look that more resembles a woman and actual singing than the pantomiming freak show most drag queens put on today.
