It's not just a job; it's an adventure, sometimes ending in sad.
Well, that was a tough story. Even if not lonely, though it certainly came off that way, life can be so lone no matter how much you've loved if only because the longer you live, the more they die off such that the last one left wins what, memories? With no one to reminisce? Well that sucks.
Even as we are gaining human rights, as we pour out of our closets, it's still tough enough for guys attracted to guys to live openly. Just imagine how it must be for a guy whose orientation is being attracted to drag queens. Which would probably be the pansexuals, omnisexuals. Where's his acceptance in the world. What are the odds of a drag queen finding someone willing to risk outing themselves. The DSM still considers that a perversion, a disorder, not a legitimate orientation.
So for now at least, and probably for a while to come, no matter how much on stage they live, theirs seems a closet in a closet. And I just googled drag queen married
to check my assumptions. Found a few brave souls but nothing in abundance.
So if that documentary holds true, then it's not just Beautiful by Night but also alone by the end of the evening. Sad.
