Good, they will probably do a better job of it than the government agencies.

They believe in freedom of speech. They'll attack any nation or religion that denies people the right to free speech. They're literally a blessing in disguise.

I think the atheists of the world need to take a stand against religion. This shit is poison.

why are they waiting till now?

I feel like anonymous acts like a teenage boy on twitter. It only wants to deal with what's hot and in the moment.

Isn't it obvious? It's because the staff at a magazine were massacred in an attempt at suppressing free speech.

Anonymous usually "shuts down" sites through DDOS attacks. You need something to gather all of the decentralized "members" and that is what this news story is. That is also why their attacks tend to go along with the news. Of course, there have been other ways anonymous has brought sites down, but they primarily use DDOS attack, which require large numbers of people to be involved, depending on server quality.

Why are these basement-dwelling clowns called "hackers" by the mainstream media? They're script kiddies at best.

Amazing, so they'll DDOS their twitter-page or something. QUITE TERRIFYING. Don't get me wrong, I think the intent is good, everything related to Jihad needs to put down one way or the other, but I always find it funny when Anonymous say something like "WE WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS. WE ARE LEGION. WE WILL HUNT YOU DOWN. YOU WILL NOT REST *DDOSs a website*"

Maybe so, but if they cause even a small disruption to jihadi websites, I'm not too bothered.

I don't want to suppress religion. I want to pull the curtain back and show that it's fiction. I want to mock religion like the cartoonists who were killed. I want people to denounce religion, not suppress it. There's a huge difference.

Pretty sure that's 100% propaganda. Why would anonymous take up a political cause that happens to be inline with that of the United States?

I've thought so for a while but I think it's safe to say that most Anonymous announcements/threats/actions are probably disinfo. Anonymous has no true organizational structure so for an entity to come out and say that Anonymous has one plan or another pretty much means it isn't Anonymous.

Presumably some of their number have some degree of co-ordination or how would they have organized their previous multiple cyber attacks and street protests?

I really think everyone has gotten this wrong, you want to take out the fundamentalists islamists websites, you dont need to deny anything, there is a much, much, more evil method. 4chan thought they were all powerful trolling stephenie myers, and they found out how pitiful they were in the face of jr fic. Make the jihadi sites "popular" and they will all suicide in defeat.
