I knew that Republican politicians are naturally homophobes, also the Coors family, and anybody at Fox News, but not actor Gary Senise. That's a disappointment.

So Pete Coors is just a religious republican now and not a company CEO religious republican? Pete Coors is now playing both sides of the political fence, 100% on HRC Corp Index while giving his money to the right wing nuts? We already been here with these people, long ago and recent, Molson is Canadian where gay marriage has been legal icon_confused.gif

MillerCoors: From Gay Boycott to Gay Brand

MillerCoors is a model corporate citizen, with a solid 100 from the Human Rights Campaign icon_confused.gif

In 1977, Coors was accused of firing employees because of their sexual orientation. What especially galled gay consumers was the funding of anti-gay groups by a foundation set up by the Coors family.

That was then. By 1993, Coors had encouraged a "Lesbian and Gay Employee Resource" (LAGER, get it?). Two years later, Coors went much further, to become one of the few major publicly traded companies to extend employee benefits to same-sex partners.

The company’s chairman at the time, Pete Coors, was criticized for having become so gay friendly during his 2004 Republican primary campaign to become a U.S. senator from Colorado. He bucked his party when he vigorously defended the policy.

What better indication of how much MillerCoors rankles than a 2012 "boycott" by a bar in Idaho. The company’s response? "MillerCoors has a strong track record of supporting the diversity of our employees as well as the communities in which we work and live," a spokesperson told the media. "Due to the diversity and breadth of our consumers and because we believe in supporting the many communities we serve, we support myriad organizations across the country we are proud to support."

Owners of gay bars say no to Coors again May 29, 2004

Myths and Facts about the Coors Boycott and the Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgendered Community icon_confused.gif

Coors wants you to help fund anti-bigotry. Coors wants to have it both ways: Coors wants to continue to fund the attack on gay rights and Coors also wants lesbians and gay men to help pay for the attack on gay rights by continuing to buy Coors beer.

We in Colorado stay away from anything Coors. Serious it is really lite headed and phucked up from any angle.

one of the coors family ran for a state office a while back. He was all for lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18. His campaign was going well till he himself landed a DUI
