Bone Frog at Berkshire East was a BLAST! It s coming back again this May... really well run race.
I've done quite a few tough mudders and worlds toughest but I'm not sure about the new format of these races now.... esp. if running them as a individual rather than as a team. It seems like a team is really going to be neccesary... So I'm switching over to Spartans this summer. The Kilington Beast has a, ahem, reputation....
If you want to text me or talk more about this drop me a pm. Cheers!
I did my first tough mudder this year, 10.3 miles, but the running was interrupted by the obstacles which made it less stressful and more fun. Some of the obstacles required teamwork which was fun, and they handed you a beer at the finish line. just be wary of the electric lines at the last obstacle. I might skip those next time, but I plan to do a mudder again next year, maybe with some friends
I did Superhero Scramble and the Spartan Sprint in MA last summer. First time I ever tried an OCR. I loved it and am planning on doing a Spartan Super and possibly a Beast this year. Spartan and a couple others are using a dairy farm, here in Barre, this summer after some legal issues in Amesbury. There is a local Facebook group you might be interested in. Feel free to message me.
I have done the Tough Mudder a couple of times and it is by far my favorite. I have done a few other runs/obstacle course, but found them rather boring a little underwhelming. The Tough Mudder is longer (between 10 & 12 mines) so you have to have a little more endurance, but I truly believe anyone at any fitness level can do these (& have a good time) since it's all at your own pace and you don't have to compete all obstacles, but I would definitely look into it.
