I have read a couple stories about this and it is not clear to me why this is happening.

Are the middle class and wealthy families having less children?

Are the poor having more children?

Is it just because we have more poor?

And where is the data to back up why it is happening? We can make guesses, but I would like to know why.

Gosh, we have an aging population with a higher percentage of retiring people, the majority of children living in poverty, and lots of debt. That is an awful scenario. I don't want to be mean but we need to take steps to try and make sure things don't get worse. In addition to trying to help these poor families, we really need to make birth control free in this country. It will save us in the long run. I'm not talking about anything mandatory...just offering birth control for free. I realize that people will say that birth control is already cheap but for people who don't have enough money for food....I'm sure that even inexpensive birth control can be difficult for them to get.
