just finished watching season1. I wonder if the plan to make Jeffrey Tambor's (amazingly played) transitioning lead the most sympathetic character by making everyone else (straight) around him an asshole. wow (his view on his kids in Ep1 is on the money). Major fail on the offensive stereotyping of the black characters (sports? check. sex? check. drugs? check) shame they could be so progressive on depicting trans people and so retarded depicting people of colour. Its beautifully crafted show, just leaves you pining for Jeffrey's character to get the hell out (Season2?) ps. his ex wife is comedy gold.

    what did u think?

I love this show and I also love that it's been so generally well-received. What struck me about it most is just how emotionally "real" the performances are. I can't wait for S2.

Yeah despite my points I did still enjoy it, it makes no concession to many characters shortcomings which makes it all the more real. Its great the subject and associated community has been recognised (Globes etc.).
