Same-sex love was also very extensively written about (and beautifully so) by many ISLAMIC poets during the Convivencia period in "Moorish" Spain.

I have several volumes in which, among other things, the "Beloved of God" is always a boy... in a beautiful garden (a "paradise" in Farsi)... also being admired by other men sitting around.

The shame of it is, every Muslim scholar in the world knows this; I just haven't heard one open his mouth about it (so to speak)... recently.

See especially, "Islamic Homosexualities: Culture, History, and Literature", Will Roscoe and Stephen O. Murray, New York University Press, 1997, 340pp.
