What I mean by this is it expected for all gay men to experience anal sex and if you don't you are seen as strange and weird. There are gay men out there who don't do anal for a plethora of reasons I.e religious/cultural to reduce chances of getting HIV

Do you feel that gay men who don't do anal are strange and weird

Nothing to do with strange or weird, just personal preference.

I agree , it's a personal preference as to what one wants to do, I've known gay guys who will suck a cock and swallow, but they won't take nothing up the rear.
I love getting and giving,, but mainly I'll receive and not expect the other guy to receive.. It's his choice as to what he wants.

Nothing is required though most gay men will expect anal, usually either to give or receive. Some want both. But the trick of finding the right guy includes finding someone sexually compatible. And there are guys out there that don't like anal either. So don't feel required to do it if you don't like it. But it will reduce your dating pool by a lot. And it does create an intimacy that is hard to find in any other way. My guess is we're hardwired to need it.

No it's not a must. I guess I like to bottom when I'm just lazy or tired. Lol, I like to top when I get super horny and see the guy has a really nice ass?? Depends on the mood really. Sometimes just cuddling and lying in bed together is enough.

This is basically like you asking should all tops be bottoms, of course not that's why there is a preference to what you prefer

They aren't strange or weird if they have a valid reason but they're definitely an anomaly in the gay community.

I think you have been watching too much porn. There are lots of "members" in the gay community that never engage.

I wonder if any one has done a scientific survey of gay sex habits (post Kinsey, who was a long time ago, and not very thorough about gay sex.)

    from past thread:
Tushies can be cute. That's why they call them tushies. But ass is gross. That's why they call it ass. They put it all the way in the back so you don't have to look at it. If it was pretty like penis they'd have put it up front and center where you could show it off without looking like you're trying to get your head up your ass.

You might have noticed farts come out of your ass. They designed it like that on purpose. That's so you can walk away from your farts. Otherwise you'd walk into them. Eww. And nothing that smells like fart can be good for you. A fart blows away from the body like an advanced warning system: Beware of Ass. It's like outdated milk. Here, does this smell bad to you? eww.

    Public Release: 18-Oct-2011
New study finds gay and bisexual men have varied sexual repertoires
One of the first studies of its kind breaks down MSM sex stereotypes

...A new study by researchers at Indiana University and George Mason University...

...the largest sample of its kind in the United States to examine the sexual behaviors of gay and bisexual men...

    ...feedback from nearly 25,000 men...

...this study was focused primarily on a single sexual event -- the most recent -- and therefore these data are able to provide a level of detail about MSM sexual behavior that has not previously been documented...

...The data revealed some interesting information on the types of sexual behavior that MSM reported, including that less than 40 percent of men engaged in anal intercourse during their most recent sexual event...

..."Of all sexual behaviors that men reported occurring during their last sexual event, those involving the anus were the least common," Rosenberger said. "There is certainly a misguided belief that 'gay sex equals anal sex,' which is simply untrue much of the time."...

    (further)

...More than 40 percent of the study's participants reported that their most recent sexual partner was someone they were dating, their boyfriend or their spouse/partner. In comparison, an earlier study of predominantly heterosexual participants found that rate to be just over half...

...Evaluations of the most recent sexual event with a male partner were mostly positive, with ratings of both pleasure and arousal being highest among older men...

...Nearly half of participants who engaged in anal intercourse during their most recent sexual event indicated a condom was used...

Anal Sex More Popular Than Possibly Expected Among Heterosexual Couples: Center for Disease Control and Prevention Report Posted: 01/06/2012

...Though its practice is frequently assumed to be confined to the gay male population, anal intercourse appears to be more popular than possibly expected among heterosexual couples...

...polled thousands of people between the ages of 15 and 44 from 2006 through 2008, found that 44 percent of straight men and 36 percent of straight women admitted to having had anal sex at least once in their lives...

So whether str8 or gay, anal sex seems to run at about the 40% mark. I guess that makes oral sex the silent majority. Which makes a fart the calling of the vocal minority. That's like their mating call or something. Ewww.

It is weird if gay men don't have anal sex just to prevent HIV(And what's the religious/cultural reasons). Wear a condom already! And ask your doctors about prep! It is 2015! But if you don't like anal sex, just don't do it. People couldn't care less about what kinda sex you have(except your partner maybe).

I agree. When I was young, most gay men would not have called themselves either top or bottom, or identified themselves in this way at all. Some did, but most not. I still find that many men, like me, aren't particularly interested. I do it occasionally if I feel like it, either way. Mostly other things are more fun.

Most gay men top AND bottom at least a few times in their life. To not do so would be an outlier.

It's not wrong or bad, it's just not the norm. Most gay men also have french kissed, sucked and been sucked, and jacked off. Even 60 years ago when Kinsey did his sex survey of mainly straight people, MOST people had done sodomy.

    For me, it's a "must-not." I just can't do it. I know that's probably gonna turn a lot of guys off. icon_sad.gif

I'm content with just cuddling. icon_biggrin.gif

    Yes I do.

Then again, I also don't do anal, and I'm strange and weird, so my opinion is totally biased. icon_biggrin.gif

not being on at least one end of anal at least some of the time is kind of like a straight person not liking being on either end of vaginal intercourse ever. It happens, but not usually, and it would make you an unpopular date for the majority of the market.
