    Yourself?

I heard this is a bit of a gay stereotype, to check yourself out while getting changed. I do it and I notice lots of the other gay guys do it. Not in a lusty way, more of a kind of self-review...

Gay or not, people who work out want to see their progress so they look at themselves. Some are more narcissistic than others, of course. icon_lol.gif

I find that in the locker rooms the majority of guys do not check themselves out in the mirrors at all, and only a small number check themselves out going to/from the shower.

I am bit self-concious in that regard. I just take a short glimpse in the mirror, or if no one is around, then only I check myself out.

The OP is talking about checking oneself out in the locker room and not in the weight room.
Anyways, I do. I have the pump and I want to see the progress. Do only gay guys do that?? I doubt it.

Checking yourself out in the locker room mirror is not a gay/straight thing fyi. Staring at/down other nude guy's in the looker room, however, is a very gay thing.

One step above checking one's self in the mirror is taking selfies at the gym or taking a pic of their own reflection in the mirror. I saw a few guys do that at my gym.

I would assume someone is looking at themselves in the change room mirror after a work out mostly because they just received a short term "pump" and this pretty much help to aid in motivation to coming back to the gym. Well at least that's the reason I do it.

If I didn't check myself out, how else would I know that I am making progress or see that I need to keep going.

Of course, how else can you improve if you do not check yourself out. A lot of the guys do it, especially the ones that are more serious about their workouts. Quite a few of the guys also weigh themselves on the scales in the locker room. I wish they would drop the towels they wear when weighing themselves, LOL!

Which is why we have the towel dance.

And nothing that straight guys wouldn't do if they had access to the women's locker rooms.

Yeah. I occasionaly check out myself to see if i am making enough progress or i am in the right path. And there is nothing wrong with it. People are necessarily somewhat narcisstic at some level and this includes every other gym goers.

    GAWD yes.

Similarly, I'm a classically trained ballet dancer, and I, literally, stared at myself in the mirrors (ballet rehearsal rooms always have 1 complete length-wise wall of floor to roof mirrors) during center (non bar) work, especially adagio. I suppose a similar faux pas is looking into the camera/lens as an actor and breaking the 4th wall. But it's a tic I'll always have.

Not at the gym locker room since I would shower at work or at home after a workout since those options are most convenient for me.
