    metta8, you missed this one.

Well this is bitter sweet for me. At a meeting about 8 or 9 years ago, a hospital meeting of about 50% doctors a physician asked Silver about tort reform in Nys. Silver replied, as long as he was in the Assembly things would stay the same. " In so many words"

See Silver also works as a "consultant" for the personal injury trial lawyers of the state. In addition to his many real estate dealings.

What does that mean? Higher malpractice premiums in the state of NY, in the short term, but now maybe not for long.

The NY times story says it all.

    He's certainly a grafting crook. And I say this as a Democrat/liberal.

Are you suggesting that because 1 guy got busted that the NY legislature will pass tort reform that has a meaningful impact on lowering malpractice insurance premiums for doctors? I don't understand your inquiry. If that was your inquiry, then I'd speculate that no, that absolutely will not happen. It has as much chance happening as the Congressional Republicans passing a minimum wage increase. Theoretically possible, but not in the cards politically.

There is little association (if you are assuming guilt by association), quite the contrary:

"There is some thought going around that it's not a mistake Silver is being arrested now, at the beginning of the session, when he was going to be a block against some of Cuomo's agenda.

Remember, Cuomo had access to and knowledge of the Moreland files that the US attorney was using to investigate Silver and other legislators.

At any rate, the game over, folks.

What Cuomo proposed yesterday for public schools and teachers?

    That's now a done deal."

You repeatedly make insinuating statements that are groundless in facts.

he blocked it in NY state as long as he was in leadership.
He makes millions from Weitz and Lutzenberg, a leading firm that does personal injury.

In Ny State he was the biggest stumbling block against it. Since he was in leadership it did not matter if there was a grass routes effort he killed it.

As we speak many lawyers in NY state may be nervous if good ol sheldon goes to federal prison.
