It looks to me like a bad bride's maid dress. Not well fitted, and it makes her look fat. And that wide strap over the shoulder looks like a gay gun belt.

I liked it, but I never have been one with an eye for fashion. As far as it making her look fat, she is not a Nancy Reagen, and being she is a mother of two with height and back fashion will need to accommodate a more natural women.

I think this is their day and we do not need to dish her outfit, lol.

She reminds me of my grandmother, cold and severe. icon_eek.gif

People have commented about how I physically exude warmth, so when I say she's cold, it is in that sense.

    *shiver* I need a hug.

Personally, I think she pulled off the day looking pretty damn classy and fantastic. I loved that she used relatively unknown designers from diverse ethnic backgrounds --- talk about giving someone a huge career break!

    Sparky,

I find it very telling that you say nothing about what the first Lady featured use with earlier!

She is a very elagant lady! Could you wear that dress! I THINK NOT!

You being the Fashionista that you are!

    Good LORD!

OK, I like the day dress. But the gown made her look fat and flat chested. Just my opinion. And I definitely could not wear either outfit. I don't look good in yellow.

What I've noticed is that the outfits she usually wears (excluding the yellow one cause I liked that one) are nice but doesn't flatter her. I don't know if it's the ball things or not but looking at her wearing it something seems... off.

I think Michelle looked great from day into night. It's nice to see a young, stylish First Lady.

Dresses and gloves aside, I think the new First Lady's beauty exudes confidence, grace and vitality. I can't remember the last time I got choked up, but I did yesterday watching the Obama's walk along the parade route. I was momentarily overwhelmed by their beauty as a couple.

    Pretty sappy, huh?

they grabbed mine too- i liked them- looked good with the coat- i'll bet they're soft as a baby- probably not very warm. but yeah i specifically though, 'kewl gloves.' it was a fun, albeit decidedly 'banana republic,' outfit. just glad she wasn't decked out in all black.

    Oh come on, who cares.

    First - she's hot.

Second - she's probably very very bright. Just wait and see.

    Wow, she looks great there.

Yes, she's a beautiful woman. Yes, it was a beautiful dress she wore last night. I just don't think it was the right dress for her - at least from the waist up. I think it made her shoulders look wider than they actually are.

The Washington Post's fashion writer had a good column on the First Lady and her fashion choices during the past week. This is the same writer who found it hard to say anything bad about the black widow dress Mrs. Obama wore on election night, so I'm not surprised that she only has good things to say about yesterday's outfits.
