    Anybody riding?
My partner and I will be in PS the week of so thinking about doing it again. Turned out to be a good day in 2013 after that rough start.

Wishing you the very best in the Tour de Palm Springs. I would love to see you win that race seriously.

    Thanks Rob,
It's a Century ride not a race although last time it sure did feel like one. I rode with a team from Redlands who hammered the 100 mile. I think we avg'd 24/25 that day after Sag 1. In much better shape this year this early...should be fun.

Well please try to come in first place at the end of this century ride. I think that would be a great thingicon_biggrin.gif

Hey Mrk100, how was the ride??? It was certainly the place to be and to ride at this time of the year ... will definitely keep it in mind for the future!

    Hey Canon,
It is the best time of year here. The weather has been flawless -85 and sunny everyday. I got in some great rides last week in San Diego, the San Bernardinos, and Joshua Tree. I'm still in PS and will be in CA for the next few weeks riding.

TDPS was really good this year and I had a great ride. There was no wind!! yep...none of the notorious crosswinds and raging windmills of past years...what a pleasure that was.

I like the course for the most part it's super fast coming into Sag 1 and Sag 3...pretty flat with no real long climbs but it's still a good workout when you hammer it. Rode with 2 groups and we really pushed the pace. Not sure what my time was as I was on a high end rental with no computer but much stronger this early in the season than 2 years ago. Winter training has paid off. I did not bring my bike from the East Coast and was weary of renting one but lucked out with this KHS full carbon rental which fit like a glove. All I needed to do was change the saddle and it's height and I was dialed in. Big Wheel Bike Tours is the place to go if you ever need to rent a decent bike out here.

Definitely do TDPS and make a week of it riding other places nearby if you can. Rt 74 out of Palm Desert up and over to Idyllwild and down to Banning is a good one. Lot's of climbs and scenic views in Mount San Jacinto State Park. Cycling Joshua Tree was a first and it was very cool. Low traffic, low 70's,sunny fast desert roads with interesting landscapes was great. Had to dodge a few coyotes but it was all good.

Excellent to hear Mrk! Happy it's been a great time and nice ride. Definitely on my calendar for next year ... need to exit the "arctic" here whenever opportunity surfaces. As I've never shipped a bike, also good to know that there's rental options with quality bikes. Thanks for sharing!!!
