I saw a trailer for this movie last week when going to another film. This looks good, and not to mention young lead actor Taron Egerton is a cutie!

I saw the trailer a couple months ago and I found it exciting. I'm usually not a fan of explosions and spy/government films but the characters seem interesting. Plus,Samuel L. Jackson being a part of it means it will be hilarious. icon_smile.gif

I've been a big fan of Colin Firth (Best Actor Oscar, The King's Speech), ever since I first saw him in a British TV production of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. He's quite a bit older now, and seeing him do the James Bond/action hero routine does seem a bit tongue-in-cheek. Love his proper British accent, a bit heavy in this role.

I also noticed Michael Caine is in this, in addition to Samuel L. Jackson, leading me to assume this is done cartoon fashion. And would you believe Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) is in it, too? Bet you won't recognize him. Well, "Kingsman" is a comic book character, after all.

I'll consider it, if only because of Firth. But will wait until the reviews are in.

    Early Colin Firth was yummy.

Did you know that two "Dangerous Liaisons" movies came out at the same time? The other with a much more attractive cast and arguably better and smarter was "Valmont," with Firth as the title character playing the John Malkovich role and Annette Benning in the Glenn Close role. He was tall, lean and pretty:

Has anyone seen this movie yet? I was going to go this past weekend but could not fit it in. Next weekend for sure. For those that have seen it, what did you think?

Yes, I preferred the Valmont version with Firth. I saw it on TV, after the theatrical release, so it was the second Colin Firth performance I saw. It cemented my admiration for his acting (and his young looks).

Indeed! And I melt at a refined British accent. Makes us Yanks seem like barbarians in comparison.

I saw Kingsman. Didn't like it as much as I expected but it was still fun. It is crazy camp and very Brit. Both of which I like, just not expecting. It reminded me of the old Avengers TV show with Mrs. Peal. Except on steroids. Wish Egerton had had his clothes off more. The big finale is truly worthy. Fun!

I agree exactly with what you said. I just saw the movie today. I also didn't like it as much as I expected. My main problem with it was I didn't like the Samuel L Jackson character as the villain, I thought he was out of place. I am a fan of the actor, I just felt that character didn't work. They should have had someone more menacing, on the order of Stromberg from the Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. Totally agree with your comment about young, hot lead actor Taron Egerton, the one scene in which he showed skin wasn't nearly enough. He is very pretty to look at even with clothes on thoughicon_biggrin.gif And Colin Firth was fantastic as usual!
