What an eminently sensible and perfectly eloquent reply. There's nothing else to say, other than Gay Byrne's face was a picture!

How could we distinguish between good over evil, happy over sad, pain vs. pleasure if we did not have opposition in ALL things.
Life is a trial a test and we have struggles to grow and learn from. Maybe being gay is a test! Maybe being blind is one also. We emerge better, stronger with character when we are tested. With out opposition in mortality, we are not human.

No but no one is oppressed for being straight. Is there a reason he chooses some people to be gay and not others? He must know how much harder it is to be gay than straight, especially in certain countries. So how does he choose? How does he choose who gets to be the son of a billionaire and who gets to live in poverty to take care of their families their whole lives working min wage? Idk just curious

OP writes what would I "say," like a statement. But I'd want to ask a question.

    STATEMENT:
Thank You for this life, and everything else You have provided, and for never forsaking us.

    QUESTION:
If I were to die now, would I be able to enjoy heaven with You?

Probably this. It's been the hardest obstacle by far. It's human to want an answer/reason.

I'd ask if Iowa was a joke or just bad accident after a night of heavy drinking.

If God existed, what would you say to her/him?

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV?
Dialing For Dollars is trying to find me.
I wait for delivery each day until three,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV?

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town?
I'm counting on you, Lord, please don't let me down.
Prove that you love me and buy the next round,
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town?

(Cultural references for the younger and non-US: song lyrics by the late singer Janis Joplin. "Dialing for Dollars" were franchised local TV game shows, where the host randomly phoned people, who had to have been watching their home TV so they'd know the password or a dollar amount revealed earlier on the screen, winning them a modest prize. You couldn't participate without a TV)

No, I think God only speaks Latin. Or at least that's all he spoke to Catholics when I was a kid, and how we were supposed to speak to him.

God, Stephen Fry made some very good points, please don't be hard on him, because he never met this guy.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-pavlovitz/if-i-have-gay-children-fo_b_5869298.html

"If I have gay children, I'll pray for them.

I won't pray for them to be made "normal". I've lived long enough to know that if my children are gay, that is their normal.

I won't pray that God will heal or change or fix them. I will pray for God to protect them; from the ignorance and hatred and violence that the world will throw at them, simply because of who they are. I'll pray the He shields them from those who will despise them and wish them harm; who will curse them to Hell and put them through Hell, without ever knowing them at all. I'll pray that they enjoy life; that they laugh, and dream, and feel, and forgive, and that they love God and humanity.

Above all, I'll pray to God that my children won't allow the unGodly treatment they might receive from some of His misguided children, to keep them from pursuing Him."

My question: I love people, God, and follow Corinthians 13 in that regard, and so I would like to petition you on their behalf that all of them, from atheists to those who believe in other faiths and philosophies be given heaven, as I believe it is a person's behaviour that determines whether they're a good person, not their faith or non-faith. What say you?

    humbly
