    The ex-Shell President is arguing it is global economic growth this year that will help to increase demand for oil (and therefore boost the price). That's not a bust, FIF, it's a boom.

    It may also be that the Saudis (and Iranians) are prepared to keep increasing production, to keep the oil price down, in an attempt to break the US oil industry.

    So, a lack of global economic growth and/or a continuing glut of oil from the Gulf states could keep the oil price low for the next couple of years. In truth, nobody knows what will happen.

    @FreedomIsn'tFree

    Interesting article, but I fail to see how it stands for the proposition of a recession or bubble burst in 2016. It simply means oil/gas prices will jump back to 100 dollars a barrel and 4 dollars per gallon at the pump.

    Not ideal, but not game-changing like the Lehman Brother's and derivatives market crash of 2008.

    If you're addressing the comment toward me .... I need to make money, do deals, buy toys, enjoy life, travel, etc. while I still have my health. All of the above requires a good economy, so just from a personal, self serving, selfish perspective, how would it be to my advantage to wish for a serious downturn?

    However, do I wish to see Bush as the next POTUS, yes, of course.
