What do you think if a guy winks at you?

Last Friday, I went to my annual physical. This is the first time I went alone, my doctor did the usual routine: check blood pressure, weight, height, asked me about any health issues etc.. When it was time to check my testicles for cancer, I got a hard-on. He said "someone's excited to see me" and then winked at me. After that, we finished the appointment. Nothing else happened afterwards.

My doctor is in his early 40s (around that age) and still single (no ring on his hand). I think he's kinda good looking. I'm wondering why he winked at me. I don't know if he was joking with me or if he's gay and is attractive to meicon_question.gif

No. It's just wishful thinking. Don't try to pursue something that isn't there.

The doctor probably has that happened hundreds of time. It may just be a way for him to make patients feel at ease and not awkward.

In that context, I would think that he's just trying to make you comfortable with the process.

(I still worry about how "out" I was during my colonscopy. I hope I wasn't semi-conscious... Oh baby, harder, harder, icon_redface.gif

I had a manager (French) that would constantly wink at me ... I just figured it must be some sort of French thing and ignored it

Some guys just wink. It is nothing more than a friendly gesture and in this case just an attempt to say without saying that it's OK, he's see this before. I'm afraid I did worse than you at my last checkup with my urologist. When he got down to groin level to inspect, without thinking I put my hands on the back of his head. Only for a second and he didn't flinch but damn! That was embarrassing.

It might be gay , but he never will have an affair with a patient , it is too risky for him and his career .

the wink is his way of saying

"lots of guys get hard during this. don't feel embarrassed."

It has nothing to do with his sexuality or interest in you.

On the other hand if he suspects you are gay, he should be more careful about how you might misinterpret his wink...which you did.

They're just being friendly man. I wink at people all the time as form of friendship or to break the ice so people won't feel so awkward...now I see how that can be misconstrued. hahaa

I agree with everyone - it's his way of making it a nothing event so you are more at ease. And I also agree with who said he'd never have a thing with a patient - as hot as that is in porn I doubt any doctor would risk his livelihood that way.

I would figure he was gay if he said that to me.

I agree with the above. Don't read too much into it. He is just trying to make you feel at ease.

If he was biting his lips when winking, that's a different story.. lol

It's a wink. It's equivalent to a slight head nod. Nothing more. Nothing less.

In those circumstances, it's like a chuckle, non-sexual.

At a bar, it's sexual, and I think it's cute (if not slightly dorky as well). icon_wink.gificon_wink.gificon_wink.gif

You do know for him to do anything with you would violate his code of ethics and he could lose his license to practice medicine in your state. It has been alluded to but thought maybe I should spell it out.

You're 18. Your dick gets hard if a breeze hits it. Your doctor realizes this. Knows there is nothing sexual and was trying to put a young guy at ease who he rightly thought was a little embarrassed.

Is it fair that during my prostate exam I push back, do a little twerk and squeeze?

Hey! Doctor visits are expensive. I just want my money's worth!

I think it was a joke and trying to keep you at ease during an awkward and embarrassing situation. Just my two cents.
