    I agree with you but Greece was out of control with patronage. I don't know how deep the reforms have gone but you're certainly right that once the system is cleaned up, it will take a stimulus to get things moving again. I wonder why conservatives can't understand that.

    well, in 1953 a gigantic amount of German debt was just forgiven and written off because they had 0 probability of ever paying it off - the same situation Greece (and Italy, Spain and Portugal) find themselves in now

    so any additional Greek financing by the ECB with austerity strings attached just basically constitutes banking fraud

    Greece should just leave the Euro. Recently Russia and China agreed to help Greece finance itself and Europe freaked out - shows you just how fucked up the entire European financial. system is. What are the European banks leveraged like 120:1 now?
