I met my boyfriend while studying in the UK. Everything were fine but then I graduated and had to go back to my country. I went to visit him wherever he were during my every holiday, skype every morning and night and whenever we are free.

Suddenly recently, on new years eve in London, he broke up with me. I asked and he said he wants a normal life. Then as the clock hits 1200 he kissed me and said I love you.

The next morning i have to leave with a broken heart. I skype with him few days later and he sent me a picture of his new boyfriend whom he kissed and have sex with.

We have been together for 3 years. It is tough to move on as it happened so fast and I thought everything was fine. Have anyone been through something similar?

How did you get over it?

I appreciate that it hurts - it always does.

A breakup happens to most guys at some time.

Time - lots of time (along with no contact) is the best (and maybe the only) way to get over it.

Try to get on with the rest (the non-romantic part) of your life.

Wait.....he sent you a pic of his new boyfriend "a few days after" the breakup? icon_eek.gif Seriously? I tell you how to get over him: Realize that only an evil person would do such a thing and remind yourself you deserve better. If you still find yourself longing for him, print out the photo he sent you of his new beau and post it to your refrigerator. After looking at it a few times a day maybe you'll realize what a bullet you dodged.

I dunno, my dear. Anyone who would dump you is a total idiot.

And sending you a pic is the act of a douche. BTW, what the Hell is a "normal life"? Did he think you are "abnormal"? He's still dating a guy, right? What a nutjob. You're better off without him.

But these things happen, because some guys are jerks. Not a lot you can do about it.

Now you go find a better guy for yourself. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. Except not to lose hope, or give up. A lot of us have had to deal with losers, on the often difficult path to finding Mr. Right.

You sometimes have to go through a few of these guys (or sometimes a lot!), before you find a real "keeper". Don't become discouraged by this one dead-end. I wish you the best. icon_biggrin.gif

What a SHITHEAD to send you a pic of his new trash!

icon_evil.gif Here's to him walking in on his new trash banging the neighbor.

Stop skyping that fucker. Cry it out. Be mad at yourself for crying over it. Then start working on finding headlines with yourself again.

Long distance relationships are hardly ever successful.

Hey, sorry to hear what happened. I'm going through something similar myself at the moment but of a one year , close distance relationship. also, the difference is that my ex had been lying and hooking up with random people from Craigslist, so I broke it off once I found out. Anyhow, not the point... How I'm currently dealing with it is thinking about how he was a sack of shit to not break it off with me before perusing anything with anyone else. It's just wrong to hold someone's love and to be a chicken shit from hurting their lovers feelings, while endulging in someone else. Everytime I miss him and look at the text, it hurts, but it keeps reminding me That he's a sack of shit that disrespecTed me. You should feel the same way... you deserve better than some fucker that already had someone on the side and didn't tell you sooner when he already been officially boyfriends with the other guy... especially before you booked your flight , time, effort, and money to see him. Time really does fix everything in the end, because your experiences does not end with that asshole, there are other things and people to experience when you're ready. Also, it's normal to think what you could have done, or what went wrong in particular with that shit head while you were together, but it's illogical. You did nothing wrong because he decided to move on. Again, just think that everything will be good again before you met that guy, and, focus on what you want in the next person and what dos and don'ts are there to obtain that one guy. For myself that I realized, I'm never going to date a guy that says he's a vers top, because I won't satisfy his other side. And much more signs the new guy will show That would be a dealbreaker. once you re ready, go find that guy that deserves your time, effort, respect, trust, and love that you showed your shithead ex.

I went through something very similar. To be honest, it's really difficult. My bf did something simliar. He went back to his home country after we had been dating for 2 years. We eventually broke up because of the distance but remained close but recently he found a new partner and things changed. We don't talk as much and it hurts especially because you put so much into things and for that long...

I would cry it off if you need to but also put yourself out there and look for other people along with also surrounding yourself with friends to help you get over him, and just do things to keep your mind occupied. I know it is easier said than done, trust me I know from experience lol, but it is the only way you will be able to get passed this. Best of luck to you! icon_smile.gif

Thank you Puppenjunge, Radd, Art_Deco, strongbull, Chase646, Guy101, Aznraven84 and e2ksj3355 for all the advice.

I have been making myself busy and yes it still hurts probably I have not done enough. I am pursuing my PhD studies upcoming October abroad and hopefully all the memories and pain will fade quickly.

I will be travelling upcoming month from 26th March to 4th April. And also June and September. Travelling alone is not that exciting, so if anyone by any chance would like to travel anywhere and would like some friendly companion feel free to chat me up.

And again Puppenjunge, Radd, Art_Deco, strongbull, Guy101, Aznraven84 and e2ksj3355 you guys are cool. I don't know if you guys are ever gonna read this but thanks for taking the time and for being nice. I wish you guys all the best in life.
