Kerry accuses Netanyahu of cheerleading 2003 Iraq war
Top US diplomat questions prime minister’s judgement as rift over nuclear talks deepens
Amid a barrage of criticism from Obama administration officials at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his upcoming speech before Congress, Secretary of State John Kerry attacked Netanyahu’s judgment by implying Wednesday that he publicly advocated for the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Kerry himself voted for the invasion of Iraq. Is Kerry engaged in a form of public self-flagellation?
Kerry takes his orders from Obama who has an Israel problem. They are personalizing it against Netanyahu to cover Obama's intense dislike of Israel. Remember his first tour when he took office. He went to every country and snubbed Israel. That had nothing to do with Netanyahu. What offends Obama about Netanyahu is he doesn't roll over and play dead and looks out for his country, which faces an existential threat if Iran gets the bomb.
I had forgotten about the first Obama international trip and his snub of Israel.
Not sure why Obama is being a willing accomplice in the destruction of the Jewish state, our ally. Is he just disinterested? Is he an anti-semite?
I think he's a virulent anti-Semite.
THAT'S a strong assumption without merit.
Netanyahu will address Congress next Tuesday. More Democratic lawmakers announced they would skip the speech, which was orchestrated by GOP leaders without the Obama administration's knowledge.Netanyahu lashed out at the U.S. and other usual staunch allies of Israel
He's showboating for his reelection.
Kerry, testifying on Capitol Hill in Washington, dismissed Netanyahu's worries. He argued that a 2013 interim agreement with Iran that the prime minister also opposed had in fact made Israel safer by freezing key aspects of the Islamic republic's nuclear program.
"He may have a judgment that just may not be correct here," Kerry said.
Kaine said Netanyahu's speech was "highly inappropriate" given its proximity to Israel's March 17 Israeli elections.
So we have Netanyahu infusing our politics before his
election. He's been accused of inflating Iraq's arsenal greatly.
We could just rubber stamp everything he wants. It's been done for decades. He's acting like a spoiled child who doesn't get exactly what he wants.
I find his meddling annoying. Certainly NOT anti-Semitic. It's calling the "Jewish" card when it's not legitimate.
