MuchMoreThanMuscle saidWhat is the meaning behind the dance move where everyone quickly rubs the back of their heads for nearly ten seconds? They did this several timee. Some cultural significance? It was very odd.

No. It's just a stupid dance move. It has no cultural significance whatsoever.
Oh yeah, this movie was a big flop. Too much stupidity even for bollywood.

Been a fan for years, starting with "Bollywood, Hollywood" (Canadian), then "Krrish" (full frontal Bollywood!).

    Great stuff!

I wonder if this is seen as "gay" in India, which is a pretty damn homophobic culture?

To American eyes the lead actor looks flamboyant as hell. His dance moves and facial expressions would clearly be interpreted as "fruity". But notice all the swooning women in the video!

This is pretty typical of a Bollywood dance number. The guys are always shirtless and hunky, and the dances are always over the top in ways that Western films could never pull off, without being laughed off the screen.

I first saw a Bollywood movie in the mid 90s while riding a long distance bus in Malaysia - a predominantly Muslim and homophobic country. Bollywood movies are considered "acceptable" there in ways that Western movies are not, primarily due to sexual content and non-traditional women's roles.

And, as is often the case in ultra-repressive societies, unless you come right out and kiss a guy, most people just somehow ignore all the homoerotic overtones (and probably go home and jack off in private).

I didn't think he was all that gay-acting, just very vain. He's actually pretty hot in an odd way. amazing body too.

Yea, I thought it was over the top over the f'g fence even as I tried to place it in the 70s with the Village People. WTF, oh, no.

Sonuus, because the energy level is so high.

When the energy level was high in the United States, it was a time associated with cocaine.

I was JUST wondering. I wasn't insulting or being sarcastic.

It's great to be that alive and energized.

I don't think this would be perceived as gay at all in India. It's just considered peacocking, which is totally acceptable in Bollywood. He would have to be totally effeminate to be considered gay.

He is a pretty hot guy too, way more ripped than most Indian actors icon_smile.gif Wish he didn't shave the chest hair though.

Although I would like to comment more on his way-too-obvious lip syncing and how it looks like a six year old was in charge of the stage design, at 2:22, did he just lick his fingers and...

    ...touch his nipple?!
