KissTheSky saidWhy do gay people choose to support bigotry by attending these conservative schools? You are giving these bigots thousands of dollars so they can treat you like sh*t... What are you thinking?
Stand up for yourself, vote with your wallet, and enroll in progressive schools that treat all their students with respect.
Is it really that hard to avoid these conservative sh*t holes?
They advertise their bigotry -- it's not a secret.
The real secret is that most of these schools are not the bigoted hate filled places one might think. I suspect that this move to ban homosexuality by Erskine will generate so much negative PR that it might just force them to stop and realize just how out of touch with the real world they really are.
I recently read an article by a gay student about his experience coming out at Liberty University, a conservative Baptist school in Virginia founded by the late Reverend Jerry Falwell. The reaction of the professors that he assumed were bigoted, homophobic, haters to his coming out might surprise you. They didn't try to cure him, tell him they hated him, or expel him, instead they offered him counseling and helped him learn to love himself and who he was, which is EXACTLY that he needed! And all of those professors that he assumed were homophobic bigots who would treat him with utter contempt when they found out he was gay? They hugged this gay boy and told him they loved him.
No, Liberty is not a progressive gay-affirming school and probably never will be, but a "shit hole"? I think not! Here is a link to his article.
