As a nation we are founded upon respect and protection of the Individual over any repressive force. including Religion.

“We’re a Christian community in a Christian state and the Republican Party is a Christian Party,” said Jeff Tyler, a member of the committee and backer of the draft resolution.

“It’s important that Christians stand up and be unashamed to say they’re Christians.”

And when you vote for any US Republican, this is what you're voting for. Because as this article notes, other committee members said they opposed the proposal, but that it placed them in a difficult position because if they voted against it they risked being unjustly labeled as anti-Christian.

The radical nutjobs have taken over the Republican Party. So that if you vote for one Republican, you vote for them all. Including the loonies who have taken charge, if it enables them to have a legislative majority that they dominate, as in Idaho.

And say they completely oppose bigotry, exclusion and the sort of arrogance that presumes to speak for all Christians!

“We’re a Christian community in a Christian state and the Republican Party is a Christian Party."

Translation: infested with the self-righteous, the ignorant and the fearful.

Could it be more clear which party is the enemy?

If this passes, does that mean the non-Christians in Idaho can wage war against the state govt and legally shoot the politicians?

After all, the right to bear arms is intended to give citizens the ability to fight back against tyrannical or theocratic rule; and that would make Idaho a theocracy.

Sounds like Republicans in Idaho have nothing better to do.

Actually, Republicans EVERYWHERE in the US have nothing better to do, but to engage in religious social engineering. Whenever they have taken political control, their first order of legislative business is social control & conformity according to their own neurotic & paranoid precepts. Ignoring their own campaign promises of improving the economy, or doing positive things, they immediately clamp down on individual rights.

Putting the lie to their claim of wanting smaller government, they actually expand government to regulate people. Whereas Democrats want to regulate BUSINESS, in order to protect people and the environment from being harmed by uncontrolled selfish business interests.

Nowhere is that seen clearer than in a proposal like this.

Amazing how the ravings of eight or ten lunatics becomes national nooz. icon_rolleyes.gif

I lived up in the panhandle back when "everyone knew" that Idaho was full of white supremacists. It was like, sixteen retards holed up on an old farm with sixty-five protestors camped out at their gate. icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif

(Both camps of attention whores, competing collaborating on their press releases.)

There is actually a handy gun shop right across the street from the capitol building. icon_wink.gif

In the 90's fist fights regularly broke out in the senate, but I don't recall any gunfights when I was there.

There was some lunatic that used to write a column in "soldier of fortune" magazine under the pseudonym "Ragnar" (IIRC) about efficient ways of ambushing and killing people. He got outed as one of our county commissioners. Apparently Ferdinand Marcos was one of his fans, and the whole family would spend their summer vacations in the Phillipines, killing people. For fun.

Once this came out, there were no diatribes in the papers, or general outrage (beyond the usual small-town gossip-tree.) But nobody ever, ever, voted for that guy again.

The thing is, people in Idaho mind their own business unless you get really, really out of control. It wouldn't matter if you were having thousand-man gay orgies out in your back 40. Until you start bothering the neighbors cows...

Sending noisy tards to Boise is a good way to get them out of your hair...
