There is always room for them on the correct, acceptable side icon_redface.gif

Conservatives are lining up to oppose the effort, arguing that it would weaken the Republican Party’s values.

Karen England, executive director of the Capitol Resource Institute, a Sacramento-based group that backs conservative social causes, told supporters in an email Saturday morning that the Log Cabin group should not be recognized because it focuses on “lifestyle preferences” rather than growing the GOP.

“If Log Cabin California is chartered, look for the California Republican Party platform to be watered down in terms of family values,” England wrote.

The party’s official platform says homosexuality is unacceptable.

There is no such thing as a self-respecting GAY Republican. The two cannot co-exist in the current political arena. Perhaps decades from now when the party changes, but now? That's just pathetic. Have some dignity and class about yourself, and even if you don't support the Dem party, don't actively support a party hell bent on demeaning you.

As intelligent as "Jews for Jesus." Oxymoron.

two dumb political thought police who act like they are so damned righteous and smart they can dictate how all gays should think.

To be honest about it, what they're exhibiting is really called bigotry if you look up the definition of the word. Nothing but cheap ass hypocritical bigots whom we've all see call others bigots.

All you have to do is a change a few words in their comments and they sound EXACTLY like Talban and ISIS, and Al Qaida who kill people for thinking wrong thoughts. There's not a bit of difference in the ignorant hate in their words and those of the most ignorant fundamentalist homophobe. Shitty little bigots all sound alike and come in all colors shapes and sizes.

It's sad what gay Republicans will see as a "victory."
The California GOP still officially OPPOSES equality for gay Americans.

The state GOP platform declares: "We believe public policy and education should not present or teach homosexuality as an acceptable 'alternative' lifestyle."

It goes on to specifically oppose spousal benefits, child custody and adoption rights for same-sex couples, though it is silent on the issue of gay marriage itself.

All the California Republican Party wants is money and political cover. The proof is in how they become proactive for gay civil rights. Don't hold your breath.

I'll make a deal w/ you: I'll hold my breath if you hold your liquor.

And just to keep the record straight, that platform dates from 2012. I won't hold my breath to see what the new one says; I'll keep working to rid it of any anti-gay language - and w/o trashing traditional families and their values, TYVM.
