Losing the ability to get hard just from fantasy?

Here is how jerking off has usually worked for me since the age of 14:

    1) I'd think of something that turned me on.
    2) I'd get hard.
    3) I'd jerk off.

I'd usually jerk off at least a couple of times a week.

But over the past couple of weeks, sexual fantasies that used to consistently give me wood do nothing. They also don't even seem that interesting. After several days of not masturbating, I only got hard after several minutes of stroking my limp dick. I've read that as men age they need manual stimulation to get an erection and they lose the ability to get hard just by thinking about sex. But isn't 44 a little young for this change?

By the way, I'm in excellent health and I'm not taking any medications.

Should I make an appointment to the doctor about this?

No 44 isn't too young but everyone is different. See a doctor if it bothers you.

Too much porn can do it. You get numb sort to speak to the real thing. My problem is that at 60 I don't get those spontaneous boners - those just standing there looking at someone boners. I have to be touched, play with myself or watch porn. Since I really prefer not to watch porn I'm not sure how to improve the spontaneity. A guy in my nude yoga class is in his 40s I guess and is semi hard the entire class and leaks pre-cum like a leaky faucet. I'm trying to figure out how to get back to those constant semis! icon_smile.gif
