Ford Motor Company isn't on the list, and they've been a big supporter for many years. They were targeted for a boycott in 2005. "The American Family Association launched a nationwide boycott on Ford Motor Company, stating that the company openly promotes gay-rights by providing financial donations, domestic partnership benefits, and marketing targeted toward the gay community. They just weren't part of the brief.....but are definitely still there!

There are no automotive companies on the list at all, not that I see. What you state the AFA boycott was about, "openly promotes gay-rights by providing financial donations, domestic partnership benefits, and marketing targeted toward the gay community." are actually requirements to gain and keep a 100% rating score on HRC Corp Equality Index, http://www.hrc.org/campaigns/corporate-equality-index the Index that now gets Exxon Mobile a low 15 point score because they added sexual orientation, gender identity to its corporate EEO policy, they only added these protections due to the Obama amended federal contractor, equal employment executive order 11246, otherwise, their HRC score would remain a zero like it has been for many years. Since HRC corporate tracking, Ford Motor was one of the first ever companies to get a 100% score, so yes, its a bit surprising that the automotive industry (including GLBT favorite Toyota) decided not to put their name into the arena.

I am sure they, the industry, feared backlash against their automotive products and chose to stay mum

HRC Will Submit “People’s Brief” with More Than 200,000 Signatories for Marriage Equality to SCOTUS
    http://www.hrc.org/blog/entry/hrc-will-submit-peoples-brief-with-more-than-200000-signatories-for-marriag

HRC announced that 207,551 Americans from all 50 states, as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands have joined as signatories on its unprecedented “The People’s Brief” in support of marriage equality. Authored by prominent lawyer Roberta Kaplan, who successfully defeated the key section of The Defense of Marriage Act (“DOMA”) before the Supreme Court in 2013, The People’s Brief has more signatories than any other amicus brief that has ever been submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The People’s Brief will be formally submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday, March 6, 2015, with every single signatory’s name included as part of HRC’s unprecedented effort to show the Supreme Court the broad-based support for marriage equality nationwide.

Kramer Levin Files Amicus Brief in Historic Supreme Court Cases Showing Broad Support for Marriage Equality Among Mainstream U.S. Religions

Kramer Levin has filed an amicus brief on behalf of numerous major religious organizations and nearly 2,000 individual faith leaders – including leadership of the Episcopal Church, the United Church of Christ, the Unitarian Universalist Association, and Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist Judaism, among others – supporting recognition of the freedom to marry for same-sex couples in the potentially historic cases now pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.

THis will sure as hell be interesting to keep up with. LOL.

    So what we have is

A total of 379 businesses who've signed on as friends of the court and surely twice that many who will be joining them. It would sure be great to have a dungeon of techies right now to go through them for financial information to come up with a dollar amount for their combined clout.

300 or so Republicans/conservatives/fundamentalists opposing businesses over gay equality.

And like ELNathB pointed out AFA, NOM, and the other faith based hate industries will be doing their best to buy as many candidates as they can.
