If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again … like when your opponent has gone to the bathroom.

That was the case in the Georgia Legislature, where a Democratic lawmaker, Vincent Fort, had tied up a Republican religious liberty bill that opponents say will legalize discrimination against homosexuals and others.

I do though question what in the bill is "anti-gay" (I haven't read the bill, just wondering).

Perhaps try reading something before you question it. Just a thought.

Do try to be understanding. An anti-gay guy will have trouble in recognizing something that's anti-gay. Coming from an anti-gay background and lacking our perspective, he'll miss the point.

I was referring to the committee hijinks.

And I did mention that I hadn't read the bill. Have you? Are you willing to go on the word of the author of a news article (from a biased source) that the bill is anti-gay? I'm not. I simply asked if anyone who has read the bill could point out what is anti-gay in it.

Stupid dumb ass Republicans in Georgia should have told the Dem he had to vote on it before he could read it... beyond the fog of controversy. That worked before didn't it?

Thanks for helping me set that joke up ExMIl and Art Deco. I couldn't have done it without you.

Shades of Al Gore's "tea drinking" excuse in reference to some Clinton-era tskandal when he claimed to have cut out in order to hit the head, thereby conveniently being absent while a crucial issue was under discussion.

Didn't Abe Lincoln famously pull some stunt like that? Something about "going to the men's," then sneaking out the window...

When I read the article I started laughing. The only reason I posted it was so that I could follow up with....

"Stupid dumb ass Republicans in Georgia should have told the Dem he had to vote on it before he could read it... beyond the fog of controversy. That worked before didn't it?"

Some people didn't appreciate the humor.

No, it's actually precisely the opposite, but any excuse to change the subject, I suppose...
