No, because the food tastes gross.
The only chain restaurant I've been to in years is Panera, and I'm not wild about them either but I was with friends.

I had Churches Chicken last night.
Chicken and waffles is my thing.

I was drunk. I'm usually drunk or baked when I do fast food. Sometimes drunk enough to vomit it all out which is always great, I have no shame. I avoid fast food otherwise.

Popeyes fried chicken!! It's the best chicken ever eaten by man! I treat myself maybe once/month if I'm on target with everything else. Man cannot eat by kale alone.

I like Panera every so often when I'm feeling too lazy to eat at home. They have a pick 2 that I like. 1/2 Chicken Fontega Pannini sandwich with small caesar and an Apple instead of chips.

Dallas has started opening a variety of (faster) food places that have low sugar, lower sodium/fat meal items.
One thing that's not low is the price.
Interiors are slick, food is clean.

Only a few, and those rarely, as in once every few months, if not years. In order of FF joints visited, from most to least:
White Castle - whether called a slider, belly bomb, or rat w/ a hat, they're totally unique and great!
Subway - always a known quantity and pretty healthy, too.
Panera - love the free WiFi, ambiance and food are both nice, and prices fair.
KFC - standard dinner in the hotel room meal when on the road.
Chipotle - with so much family owned MX FF in CA, I generally frequent the latter.
Del Taco - for franchise MX FF, it's not that bad and beats Taco Bell all to Hell!
Dairy Queen - only in summer, but nothing beats a Blizzard!

Burger King. A few times a year. Usually two double burgers (I think they're called BK Juniors now), no cheese or mayo, heavy all other toppings. No fries or sides.

I tried Wendys burgers for the first time in many years and found them way, WAY too greasy - even the buns seemed oily. I guess that explains their "hot & juicy" appeal.

Every year or two - KFC original recipe. There Is No Equal.

Why not ? Sometimes I do believe that no matter however you pay or wherever you grab food, they could be crap food. I love NYF, I love poutine.

Well said, I'll adopt this, but strike "White Castle" (barf) and add "What-A-Burger" icon_cool.gif

So today I decided to head out to one of our new "faster food" restaurants that is still counter ordered and then you come get it when your blinky light square does a little buzz a roo.

My lunch (too much food) Thai Coconut Chicken Salad and Flank Steak Entree with Sweet Potato Mash and mini Salad.

Jack's lunch was Superfood Salad and Spicy Chipotle Steak Sandwich on Chibatta.

All much better than a Big Mac with Fries and a coke.
Trust me, I've had both and this not only tasted better, but was WAY Better for your body.
If speed is the desired food, this still fits the bill. It was ready in less than 5 mins.

Yeah, I eat fast food. Like all the time. McDonald's on a regular, but I also love Taco Bell, Arby's, Captain D's, and any Chinese place. And any Thai place. Or Mexican/Indian/any other ethnic kind of place. My metabolism is catching up with me, though, so I'm having to slow down.

Do you eat at fast food restaurants?

No. The rare exception is when driving a long distance, and we're just stopping long enough to fill the car's gas tank, and don't want to waste travel time at a real restaurant. We may even do the drive-thru and eat it in the car.

We also try to avoid chain restaurants, but sometimes we've gotta accommodate friends. The food may be OK but formulaic, per the rigid corporate master menu. And the setting feels so remote & cold, no matter how visually attractive, we're always strangers there.

Rather, we go almost entirely to locally-owned places. We know the owner(s), the servers are always the same people we know by name, who in-turn address us by our own first names as we prefer. It's like we're their guests in their home, and we chat about personal matters.

And we can have the menu items altered all kinds of ways, have additions or subtractions. Which they may already anticipate, anyway, being familiar with us. And we likely know the chef's name, too, my husband sometimes invited back into the kitchen. Now THAT'S the kind of family eating we like when we go out. An yah know what? It doesn't cost us more than the chains.
