hmmm ... while I found here speech at times moving, I have a little difficulty equating going down on a married man with a kid who is the president of the US with being outed by a video having sex with another man being plaster all over the internet for everyone you know to see. At least no one uploaded a video of her going down on Bill. I felt that she was trying more to legitimize her actions by saying she fell in love. Fell in love??? really? He was married, and president of the US to boot, a very public person, seriously what could she have been thinking? How could she not know that any sort of affair with such a man would become extremely public. Tyler Clementi had no concept that someone would be so vicious as to video his vary private moments with another man and place them on the internet. Is she trying to say that a 22 year old doesn't have any better sense then what she did. But what's done is done. Hope she can move on and not use bullying of the gay community to legitimize her actions.

Let's see...a gay teen committing suicide vs. a slut who willingly went down on a married man? That's like a murderer trying to compare himself to a 5-year-old who's been brutally murdered.

Does one detect a hint of misogyny here?

Not at all, just someone accurately stating the facts and drawing an appropriate analogy.

Monica, do us a favor and don't do us no favors!

I feel bad for her. She was used cruelly by the two witches Linda Tripp and Lucianne Goldberg. Tripp was just a vengeful twat who felt passed over and was determined to get even somehow, while Goldberg was looking for a sinecure for her brain-dead son. His being hired by National Review was one of the payoffs for the bag job she did on Linda Tripp. She really ought to have gone to jail, but right-wingers always get a free pass for that kind of thing. Worse, we still have Jonah Goldberg to this day, spewing out flumes of gibberish like lava from a volcano of stupid.

I get her point about humiliation. But I also think that she learned a hard (literallyicon_biggrin.gif) lesson by her own actions... And then by telling everyone and keeping the dress as evidence. It's not the same as being gay bullied. She asked for the blowjob, got the blowjob and then played it to what she thought was her advantage. And now it seems she is kinda doing it again.

I can see it. It's the same public humiliation and judgment. She was definitely bullied by the media. She wasn't much older than Clementi when the scandal broke. Young people don't always make the best decisions. It's very possible for a 22 year old to think she's truly in love with the most powerful man in the country because he was giving her attention. People still loved Clinton but vilified and continue to vilify her. Everyone will remember her by what she did when she was 22, that's a pretty harsh sentence.

She did well. At last count she's worth 11-12 million.
