    THE JEWISH CHRONICLE ONLINE
Dan Glass led protests outside Mr Farage’s local pub in Downe, Kent on Sunday where the Ukip leader was eating lunch with his wife and two children.

Mr Farage said the demonstrators forced him and his family to flee the pub, and had jumped on the bonnet of his car as he drove away.

The campaigner said since Mr Farage accused his group of scaring his children he has received death threats and has had his personal details posted on far right website Britain First.

Mr Glass said: “I’ve had messages from people threatening to kill me. My photo is on Britain First and my Facebook has been inundated with messages from people I don’t know.

“They have left homophobic and antisemitic messages saying they support Farage and I should ‘watch out’.

It's pretty funny when leftist thugs get a taste of their own medicine and realise how bitter it is then go around claiming they're the victims of all sorts of "phobias". How many phobias are there in the left wing vocabulary by now? Hundreds I reckon.

    Is this just British weirdness?

A Jewish leftist, who states that his grandparents are all holocaust survivors, leading semi-violent protests against a political figure because his party is "Islamophobic"?

the sad thing is that the story is equally ironic and humourous without making the "leftist" jab.

The charismatic Farage is probably the only thing UKIP has going for it. Once he has gone, UKIP will collapse. The UKIP membership predominantly comprises bigots and simpletons. Those who vote UKIP tend to be poorly informed or just want to make a protest vote. UKIP has recently come under greater scrutiny and decent people are beginning to see it for what it is. In spite of its spectacular rise in popularity over the last couple of years, it will soon become just another footnote in British politics, like the BNP and the Referendum Party. There is certainly no broad appetite over here for some equivalent of the American Right. No thanks.

Apparently, the television producer involved in that 'fracas' with Jeremy Clarkson is in hiding too after receiving death threats online.
Another weird irony of the internet age.

Some of those protesting against Farage were highlighting the rampant homophobia within UKIP, yet Angry Aaron (a gay man?) thinks it amusing these protesters have received death threats. That's weirdly ironic too.

Keep repeating a lie and it just might become true.

What Farage says and what his party members espouse are rarely the same thing. Even he is pretty inconsistent in his comments on gay matters.

Is Ukip a party of bigots? Let's look at the evidence

    Homophobia

Ousted MEP Nikki Sinclaire, who came out as a lesbian, won a sexual discrimination case against UKIP after refusing to sit with its homophobic allies in the European parliament.

On a private members’ forum, senior UKIP member and former parliamentary candidate Dr Julia Gasper claimed some homosexuals prefer sex with animals. The Mirror reported her as saying: “As for the links between homosexuality and paedophilia, there is so much evidence that even a full-length book could hardly do justice to the subject.” (Ironically, UKIP General Secretary Jonathan Arnott had banned a discussion on the site on gay issues, because he feared that someone “is going to screenshoot comments and send them to a newspaper”.) She was sacked.

More recently a UKIP Croydon North candidate tweeted: "A caring loving home is a heterosexual or single family. I don't believe (a gay couple) is healthy for a child." He did so, after retweeting an article written by a National Front supporter who claimed there was "no such thing as homophobia". He was sacked.

However, Olly Neville, the former UKIP Youth Chairman, was also sacked for supporting same-sex marriage. Sack them all, as long as we don’t have to talk about it, seems to be the policy.

Nigel Farage is either incredibly naive and innocent about the true nature of his party, or being less than honest with us.
Having spoken to UKIP supporters over the last few years, I`ve found the old xenophobias more than present. He may not be prejudiced himself, but his party is full of prejudice; and panders to it, only to back track on the statements or change them in some way. Many of the party`s supporters I`ve spoken to make him look a liberal multiculturist!
I think in some ways his problem is a party full of non-party types more inclined to argue small differences than really work together in a disciplined way. The party has a number of representatives on my county council and their behaviour to date has been more like a pantomime, with defections, splits, and internal personal arguments rather than service to the people.
I think one of the side effects of its recent success is increased media coverage which is exposing this, and flushing out the bigots and just plain weirdoes.

From its height (6.2%) at the 2009 European elections, support for the BNP has all but disappeared (1.1% in 2014); to where? 'BNP-lite' is probably the best description of UKIP.
