Texas Successfully Blocks New Federal Rights for Gay Couples

A federal judge ensures the Family and Medical Leave Act will not apply to legally-wed same-sex couples who lives in states without marriage equality.

"Federal judge Reed O'Connor, an appointee of George W. Bush, blocked the Family and Medical Leave Act from applying to all legally-married couples regardless if they live in states that don't recognize their marriage, the Washington Blade reports."

    Why hasn't Texas succeeded yet?

Oh wait, I know why...the US doesn't want them and Mexico doesn't want them. Maybe they should get bought by Russia? That's about their only hope.

America as a whole isn't you dumbass. And the big difference is you don't see anyone here defending Texas. But you defend those Black countries simply because they're BLACK. Which makes you the most racist person here.

What do you expect guys, it is the lone star shithole of Texas, the giant tea party state. Thank God I fled from that oppressive, backward, featureless place back in the spring of 2001.

Well I'd rather go to Texas then Jamaica any day.
I'm sure Jamaica is more exotic , I just don't want to end up as the main course at some BBQ party.

If I had the choice of traveling either to Texas or to Jamaica with the third option of staying home, I will more than willingly exercise the third option and stay home.

I think the word has spread in the gay community not to travel to Jamaica. I know most gays here in South Florida won't go there. And Texas is becoming the same way - not a good place to go.

Of course, just like here in Red Florida, there are pockets of Texas gay acceptance. But the Republican politicians are trying to hammer away at them everywhere.

Along with women's rights, voting rights, minority rights, any kind of individual rights, save corporate rights. So I guess it isn't entirely us. But gays make good poster children for the hatred & bigotry that energizes the US Right Wing base.

Not unlike the way the Neo-Nazis operate in Europe, another Fascist political organization. I include that comparison not to be gratuitous, but rather to help our European members understand what we're dealing with in the US. The only difference is that our US Fascist politicians usually wear dark suits and try to look like somber bankers, and obsessively emphasize their allegedly strong Christian faith.

And this is what Pazzy pretends to not see. Yes, Texas is one of the worst states in our country as far as equal rights go. BUT.....it's miles apart from Jamaica or most African areas. Pazzy is trying to make this into a black-or-white issue (pardon the pun) but try conducting the experiment below in Jamaica. The entire restaurant would drag the family outside, throw tires over their heads and light them on fire.

Wow that was uncomfortable to watch but interesting.
You can't compare the two places though because even if Texas is a red state it's still the United states and you are raised to know both sides..you know that bullying and racism is bad so you are aware from a young age that there is a good and a bad side.
And this video shows that Texas has decent heterosexual people that know right from wrong
Now in Jamaica, public schooling is mostly non existent and you are raised to hate from a young age.
let's face it, it's just a place that is corrupt in most aspects so it's no surprise as to what goes down over there.
I'm not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if Jamaica is a mess politically as well.

And, I wouldn't be surprised if the 5th Circuit overturns this ruling.

This isn't disinformation. All these hate laws are being proposed by Republicans and passed by Republicans in Republican controlled states. Your argument that not all Republicans feel the same way is disingenuous. The Party YOU support is the Party doing these things. For power and money. And just because they like government intervention in our private lives. If you support them, you're one of them.

And you can be sure that there will be some Gay Republican from Texas, or elsewhere, saying this is just fine with us that we are discriminated against, as long as we keep bashing Obama, who helped get gay marriage!

how do you know this? do you have any relatives or anybody from jamaica that you know that can vouch for you on that?

i wouldn't be too comfortable with texas or the united states as being an example. after all, the only reason why gay sex in the united states came legal which was not even 15 years ago, which is another reason why i'm laughing @ our patriotic members getting "too comfortable", is from a case where two men got locked up for having sex in texas back in 2001. the supreme court took the huge step to rule against the state and the feds even when they say that "sodomy laws" or basically laws that prohibited anything that wasn't vaginal sex was legal. basically, plenty of gay men got thrown under the bus prior before that and even after that where states like how they are with same sex marriage, refused to acknowledge the supreme court decision and would lock folks up anyway.

so don't get why folks are acting surprise or thinking everything's sweet.
    gimme a fucking break pazzy
Everyone knows how dangerous and homophobic it is in jamaica.I have friends who have been there and I've read lots of articles on the place. If you think Jamaica is all that go move there buddy. But when you're caught blowing someone don't come crying to me when You are lit on fire hanging by your feet like a human Pinata
