It's a start. We cannot let these people get away with their un-American, un-Christian bullshit. They are a blight on America's once-great image as a defender of liberty and fairness.

Misinformed Liberals. Here's what you support when you deny RFRA Laws:

A member of the Westboro Baptist Church or the KKK can walk into a local printer and order 100 signs displaying "God Hates Fags" which the printer would be required to produce.

Nice try, but other way around. If you refused to do the signs Westboro could sue under RFRA, because you are not refusing service because of religious reasons, you are doing it for non-religious reasons.
You see, the bible specifically states in clobber passages that homosexuals go to the same place as murderers. The debate is over whether the book meant that or not. But, the words are there.

I just signed a petition to ask the NCAA to move its headquarters out of Indiana. I would love to see the pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly Inc. do the exact same thing by abandoning Indianapolis and Indiana by moving out of state since that corporation opposes this religious freedom law.

As hateful as these people are, I have no problem with this - freedom of speech. After all, the same printer could refuse to print pro-LGBT signs. As painful as freedom and an open society may be, they are preferable to balkanization and being able to refuse to serve people you don't like on "religious" grounds.

There is something I still don't understand. Why is it that many Christians find it amusing to oppress gays because of what the Bible says? There are other verses in the Bible that say the most absurd things in this modern world. Apparently it's acceptable to enslave those who aren't Christians. So should we enslave Jews, Muslims, other religions and non-believers? The Bible says that women cannot speak in church. So much for Anita Bryant.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate religion. I can appreciate it. We are humans and we can reason. We can interpret.

We should consider that the Bible or Torah was written during a time a place where we might think their culture is irrelevant for today's society.

Using religious freedom to discriminate against others is unjustifiable. We might as well allow religious freedom to perform human sacrifices or honor killings. Or even discriminate against other people of other faiths.

...and herein lies the irony of the whole religious freedom exercise:

Do religious bakers ask hetero couples if they have been fucking before getting married?

    Hypocrites! The lot of them!

    JESUS WAS A MOOCHER!

There's no evidence from scripture that he even brought a goatskin of wine to those dinners!

It was only after the chiding of his mother that he turned water into wine at Cana when he knew damned good and well the wine was going to run out!

Signing the petition is great, but the single most important thing we can all do is VOTE EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN OUT OF OFFICE.
It is the GOP who declared war on gay Americans. They must forfeit their jobs because they are unfit for public office. End of story.
We are paying these bigots' salaries... icon_sad.gif

Not if the printer refuses to print what he feels is objectionable language and has a sign posted to the affect the the business reserves the right to refuse printing material containing words it finds objectionable. Sort of like restaurants with dress codes.

I feel such shame being a hoosier. This area really is deprived of any LGBTQ related avenues. Hell where I live there is only one gay bar around! My hope is to move out towards Chicago. I am really hoping I can make it. It is literally a wasteland of sorts here.
