I'm just getting over a virus that knocked me on my ass for 5 days and caused me to miss an entire week of work. It started on Monday with what I would describe as a heavy chest and by Tuesday morning I was running a fever, non- productive cough, dizziness, etc. This continued until today when I finally lost the cough but woke up in the middle of the night to another episode of fever to which I literally soaked through my bed sheets. I am finally feeling better today, but now am left with a brutal cold. Has anyone else had this virus this past winter? I think it is honestly one of the worst I have experienced...

There are all kinds of viruses with similar symptoms. If you were able to eat and retain fluids, count yourself lucky.

I once got one that turned out to be a parvo virus... lost 30 pounds and not the right ones. icon_sad.gif

Sounds like the flu and being sick for a week is typical.

Now you've done it; the anti-vaccination wackos here on realjock will be coming out of the woodwork.

There's only 1 I can recall. Some guy in Washington state. I haven't seen him post in a while.

For me this week, out of nowhere, the upper eye lid, Stye from Hell, after a week of hot compress, facial steam and 4 days of antibiotic ointment, its still not going to come out on its own!, I can even see it thru my eye lid skin. Next week I pay hundreds of dollars to have it removed, in 'minor' surgery, only by ophthalmology, my cheaper dermatologist cant do eye lids. icon_confused.gif

BTW, on a 1-10 pain scale, a eye stye is about an 8, imagine trying to express sand out of your eye lash hole icon_twisted.gif

I had something like this a year ago, not quite as bad. But the cough lasted over a month.
