'Nail Salons Are More Regulated': A Gay Survivor Takes On The 'Troubled Teen' Industry

"The U.S. Government Accountability Office has reported that in 2005 alone, 1,619 program employees in 33 states were involved in incidents of abuse. GAO also found that untrained staff, lack of adequate nourishment and reckless operating practices had all contributed to the deaths of teenagers in these programs. According to Survivors of Institutional Abuse, an advocacy group working on the new campaign, more than 300 deaths have been linked to these programs."

Some of you may recall the incident of the Rajneesh commune in my county, which ended in the first documented bioterrorism attack in the U.S. Basically, they got into a pissing match (as have I) with the county land-use planning office -a corrupt and incompetent infestation of bureaucratic slime.

Well, anyway, the former Ashram has been taken over by some mysterious christian death cult with a seven-figure endowment that has been given rubber-stamp approval for everything the Rajneeshies ever wanted, and more. (Proof that the county's treatment of the Rajneesh was pure racism.) They fly kids in on private jets and fly them out again. Nobody has any idea what goes on down there (escapees would have to hike a hundred miles through the desert...) I'm just waiting for the kool-ade incident...
