“America’s always had a racial problem,” Barkley told CNN’s Chris Cuomo late Thursday evening.

“Now we have a homophobic problem,” he continued. “Any form of discrimination, you have to check it.”

Barkley added that Indiana’s latest legislation deliberately targeted people based on their sexual orientation. The retired basketball star, now an analyst on the TNT network, said that discussions about lost religious liberties were thus a false flag.

“Gay people didn’t go after Christians,” he argued. “They came after gay people. Let’s get that straight.”

“It’s strictly about discrimination,” Barkley claimed. “They just don’t like gay people. I wish they would just say that.”

Christians who oppress others “always hide behind the Bible,” concluded Barkley.

Love Sir Charles. But my favorite smack down of the religious right re gay marriage is still Stone Cold Steve Austin."Which one of these motherfuckers talked to God and God said that same sex marriage was a no-can-do?"

    I always shrug at homophobia

I wish instead we would build a global gay brotherhood

I wanna pet you on the head.

but in all seriousness, it would be nice to have a global gay brotherhood. The gay mafia just doesn't cut it anymore.

    Quite true.

Slave owners had no trouble finding Biblical passages to support slavery. Of course they ignored Jesus' command to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Everytime we think that homophobia has been defeated, something happens to show that it has not been defeated. The same with racism.

We have a long way to go even though we've made considerable progress.

It's true, we do have a *homophobic problem. I think it just comes down to fearing the unknown or being too religious or some people just love to bully or be judgmental toward people who are *different than them. This is another reason why most gay LGBT people move to the gay meccas/big cities.

Straight people and gay people do not have a problem with gay marriage, its REPRESSED BISEXUAL people who have the problem - then they cover themselves in terms of " the bible sez so "

The pizza shop owner in Indiana said " I choose to be straight, they choose to be gay "

Roughly 50% of HUMANITY has the ability to express bisexuality - that's around the same % who experience homophobia based on them listening to their huckster priest's cherry picking of laws of Leviticus or the Koran or whatever stupid fairy tale books they say they believe in
