Absolutely awesome. Thought he was always great on "Dr. Quinn", has a very positive and fantastic attitude about helping people and very happy for him and what he wants to do. Glad to hear he's doing very well and excited about his life and its prospects. Go Chad!

Anyone who wants a role model Chad Allen is a good one. He's worked tirelessly for gay/lesbian causes and charities while acting. I can't say the world is losing a great actor - but we're losing a great public personality who has used that to do some great work - and he was an enjoyable actor to watch. He did three gay detective movies which were pretty shabbily produced but really good to see a gay detective with a normal guy who happens to be gay and has a normal life with his partner . . . kind of like in his real life with his 10-year partner. Thanks for all you've done Chad and I know you'll help the people you treat as a psychologist.

His detective series (Donald Strachey Mysteries) was a positive role model for gay couples. Best of luck to him.

He got on my radar after his Star Trek TNG episode as an orphan adopted by aliens:

Of the numerous stalwart, stilted, duty-bound, noble and utterly boring pubescent boys on that show (including Riker's "son," Worf's "ward" and "Wesley Crusher" himself) he was by far the best. Maybe because unlike the others they didn't grease his hair back.
