NYT: It is a hero among sandwiches, although it is not the one called a hero. It is not called by any name that everybody agrees on, although it sometimes appears on menus as the breakfast sandwich.

I usually eat that mix in a nice, homemade, flour Tortilla a.k.a a Breakfast Taco! Add some potatoes to the mix, and some Salsa Verde on top to finish and that is what I have most mornings to eat

that looks like one of those British hot pocket things. Add onions and tomatoes and I'm game.

    No...hot guys are irresistible.

Bacon, egg, and cheese are a required food group for basic survival.

Not bacon or eggs. But cheese, yes.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidI had a piece of salmon the other day that was apple smoked and it had the very same type of savory flavor as bacon.

THAT sounds wonderful, I wonder where I can find it short of apple-smoking salmon myself.

    1) mere fact that it is salmon from a box with 'finishing' sauce is disgusting!
    2) pork is not red meat, but pink meat… LOL..
    3) everything in moderation… kept for fresh fish… nom nom….

I have no problem with any meat… Tofu, grains, nuts, etc will never be a sub for good ol fashioned meat.. as a side dish, awesome… LOL.. icon_cool.gif

Bacon is a prime example of what sheeple humans can be. We hear we're supposed to love something so therefore we jump on the band wagon. Bacon and Nutela are the two things that come to mind that represent this phenomenon. Nutela is mostly sugar and palm oil and is overly sweet. Bacon is overly salty and almost nothing but fat. They are the favorite foods of simple, basic people with unsophisticated taste buds.

Sushi is trendy too, but is freaking delicious, and most people with refined palates appreciate good sushi. So I don't really understand your argument. Lots of foods are trendy, but health or at least not bad for you, and hailed by critics are "fine" foods.

I agree, bacon is too salty and horrible for you, but I enjoy it. And not because I'm "supposed" to. BLTs are delicious. I never really cared for Nutella. I'd take apple butter anyday, but I don't like apple butter that much either.

Yes but sushi is (or can be) complex with different levels of flavor and texture and can differ wildly from chef to chef. I guess I just find the "I LOVE BACON!" people to be very simple minded.
