I love Scruff and I've met some great guys from it. More so than any other app or website. BUT.....lately it seems about 60% of the guys on there are either "married" or in "open relationships." Which is fine, but that really takes away from the app for single guys who are looking for an actual date. It also makes it more of a hookup app than a dating app.

Of course you can always use the filter option but then you're missing over half the guys and many of them are really hot. I bet they could make a lot more money if they divided Scruff into two separate apps.....one for single guys and one for swingers. Or, one could be for casual sex and the other for dating. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I was thinking on the same line. Most of these apps are clogged by guys already in relationship or married. In case the app makers decide to implement such feature, it's going to be hard for them to find out who is single or partnered. I don't think there is some way to create such kind of separation because those who are already in relationship are just looking for random sex, and hence would be more eager to be part of both sides. The idea isn't a very feasible one.

On a different note, why don't guys who are partnered and looking for a 3some, post a joint picture? Most of the time, it's just picture of one of the guys.icon_mad.gif

You just mentioned the solution but dismissed it because you still want to see the married and open relationship guys... so why even complain?? icon_question.gif

Once again, you're posting about something you know nothing about. You downloaded Scruff for one day and deleted it the next, so how are you an expert on it? And as I said in my OP, I've met LOTS of great guys on Scruff. And I've never seen all this "cockiness" you speak of.

Would you prefer that these guys lie about their relationship status? Kudos to them for their honesty.

I thought the addition of the "match" option on there was specifically aimed for single guys to meet someone for a date. It almost makes it sound more like it's geared for single guys looking for dates, not hookups.

No it isn't. I have been matched with married or partnered guys. That matching feature doesn't take into account your dating status. It just matches on the basis of what you are looking for, like Dating/NSA/Relationship etc.
The truth is more than 80% of guys on these dating apps are not single.

pazzy saidi feel bad for the significant others of those guys who don't even know that their husband/boyfriend is on there. they're not in an open relationship where they got the green light from their boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband or whoever it is and are creeping for some action. icon_sad.gif that's not cool. fuck that.

think that these apps are pretty much setting gay people back 50 years to be honest. back then, folks couldn't even date or get together for obvious reasons. nowadays, folks are all about that quick action and don't even want to know you or at least know who they're jumping into bed with or kissing on the mouth. it's more or less the same except guys are knowingly doing it.

and scruff is a HOOKUP app. all these apps are hookup apps. can't blame anybody but the people that think that being gay is all about fucking their lives away until they die off. it's sad.

Why don't you just make the recommendation to the administrators of Scruff. Actually, you can tweet the founder:

By the way, Spazz, your self-hating anti-gay message is redundant. We don't need you to regurgitate it over and over. It's like a broken whiny ass record playing over and over.

But by what you describe you would end up unsatisfied since so many hot guys are married, right? Not to mention you would have several infiltrators from the other side of the fence. Maybe what you want is just blissful ignorance since you wouldn't know what you would be missing and you wouldn't be confronted with hard compromises -- like being flirted by a super hot partnered guy.

There are fewer guys on Scruff, but the quality is SO much better when compared to Grindr.

    Comparatively Scruff guys are:

    More "masculine" (less manicured eyebrows)
    More genuine
More into hooking-up or dating (instead of filling time)
    More friendly

On balance, I would be using Scruff day and night if I were single. As it is, I go on there from time to time to window shop at pictures when I have 'down time' icon_cool.gif

    Look but don't touch!

From dating sites and apps I've gotten:

    - Long term REAL friends that are always there for me
    - Job offers from guys in the same field of work (networking)
    - Unforgettable dates and relationships

how long were you on for before you experienced that though? i imagine you pretty much messaged everybody, probably there for years or must have had the same type of picture you do now to be noticed by other people because places like those are extremely superficial. you have to do some false advertisement in order to attract folks to a profile. then again, the same can be said about real jock. think all this reflects on the people that use the site or app which a general consensus can be made. if folks think that they have to show some skin to be noticed or someone is like "this guy might be a good friend because he has nice abs" then that in itself speaks volumes.

God DAMN you're a miserable fucker! Not only are you miserable but you just can't stand knowing other people go through life actually ENJOYING life. Here you are making shit up about another member's experience when you know zero about him. I show no skin on my Scruff profile and that fucker is going off all day long with guys wanting to meet. Maybe you had a bad experience because your shitty personality shines through. icon_mad.gif

icon_rolleyes.gif SHUT THE FUCK UP, HYPOCRITE. your punk ass is COMPLAINING about a fucking hookup app that was designed to be a hookup app not being what YOU want it to be, ready to rain on the happiness of others that use it to satisfy you.

Read the first sentence of my OP you illiterate pig! ---> "I love Scruff and I've met some great guys from it. More so than any other app or website." I was commenting on one particular issue but made it quite clear I love the app.

And Scruff is NOT a "hookup app." Nowhere on Scruff's site does it claim to be for hookups.

You're just a bitter old virgin who's so frustrated with your pathetic existence you can't stand to see anyone else having fun with their lives so you shit on everything you come into contact with. I wouldn't be you for a million dollars....not even for 5 minutes! Comment on something you have experience with.....like food stamps, porn or how to clean mold off your basement wall.

When I was in Brazil I've met 2 of the 3 closest friends I had there on ManHunt when I was still a very skinny guy. There was probably some physical curiosity on their part in the beginning but it doesn't matter what starts the first contact. Looks certainly get you to the door but what makes you pass that door is your personality.

how to meet new people from Instagram?

I was about to ask the same thing, isn't Instagram just a photo sharing app?

Anyway, from my experience on Scruff, I have to agree that it seems like a lot of guys, at least in my area, are either partnered/married, some don't say if they are in an open relationship either.

But I personally like Scruff better than Grindr because I like the color scheme and layout more.
