The Log Cabin Republicans have had their deposit for a booth at The Western Conservative Summit in Denver returned to them, because they support marriage equality.

And yet the Log Cabin Republicans will still donate money to and endorse whichever anti-gay GOP candidate wins the nomination for President.
It's the same sad story year after year.

There are GOP candidates who support gay equality, but obviously they are a small minority.

The banning of the Log Cabin Club from the convention should be a wake-up call to the Log Cabin Club and make it inescapably clear to everyone that the GOP is not the friend of gay men and women. However, I do believe that the Log Cabin Club does have a valid rôle to play. If it plays that rôle well, it can decrease the number of GOP politicians who oppose equality.

We do have a two party system. Ignoring the GOP and failing to work towards making it less gay unfriendly would be a mistake. If the Log Cabin Club increases by only a small percentage the number of gay friendly GOP politicians, it will have performed a constructive service.

Of course the Log Cabin Club should cease pretending that there are many gay friendly GOP politicians since in actual fact, although they do exist, they are few in number.

So liberals, does this mean Hillary should give back the money she accepted from the Sultan of Brunei and other Islamic countries who stone gays to death.

Here's Hillary at a dinner thrown for her by the Sultan Of Brunei:

Liberals: find me a news report of a Republican President or Candidate accepting money from a country which stones gays to death.

Colorado GOP invites gay group to Western Conservative summit

    By Lynn Bartels
    The Denver Post

The Colorado Republican Party has invited a gay GOP group that wasn't allowed to set up a table at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver to share its booth.

Party Chairman Steve House, who took over in March, made the announcement Thursday afternoon, one day after a firestorm over the snub by summit organizers to the Log Cabin Republicans.

"We're fine with the Colorado Republicans sharing some table space at the summit with all their affiliated groups. We're not fine with the shaming and bullying pressure tactics of Log Cabin Republicans' national office," said summit chairman John Andrews.

    Comment:

Log Cabin will sit at the GOP booth and will distribute materials from there. The "compromise" saves face for the host, Colorado Christian University and John Andrews. It's not optimal, but shows that the Republican party is beginning to face political reality -- being anti-gay is a political liability.

Quite a compromise. Log Cabin accepts being labeled with - "...the shaming and bullying pressure tactics of Log Cabin Republicans' national office." And from what I understand, they can't distribute any material that supports gay marriage, or they'll booted from their "guest" spot at the State Party booth.

That's not compromise, that's capitulation. At which the Log Cabin Republicans excel.

It is better than nothing Art. The Colorado GOP has demonstrated a strong willingness to help the still shunned Log Cabin group. This is a significant step in the right direction. You just keep being a blind sycophant to the Democratic Party and that hapless Hillary ho who is the most unqualified of all the potential Presidential candidates.

^+1! Well said, Roadbike! So many people posting here - the poster you parried preeminently among them - have absolutely no knowledge of what LCR's accomplished and what it's still doing, and when confronted with those facts, they instinctively ignore and suppress them.

I listened to a local Denver radio interview with a Log Cabin Colorado representative on Friday and recall that there was no restriction on the nature of the literature they could distribute at the GOP table.

If you have other info, please point me to the source. I can follow up with the local LCR folks and check out its veracity.

I'm finding it remarkable that the Colorado GOP is standing up to the religious right (in the form of Colorado Christian University event sponsor) and is literally giving gays a place at the table -- a table that's also occupied by the Chairman of the Colorado Republican Party.

It's a new year and a new party chairman. The prior Colorado GOP chairman was challenged in an election and defeated almost a month ago.

The "stupid" party seems to be doing something right.

I think the GOP should have pity on the log cabin repukes. They'd pray the gay the away if they could... But whenever they see a hot guy on the cross, it just gets so HARD.
