NYT: The governor was away on business when the wedding occurred, but he later attended a reception for the newlyweds.

Last June, a cousin of Mrs. Walker, Shelli Marquardt, was married to her partner at Waukesha County Courthouse outside Milwaukee, according to media reports. The Walkers’ then-19-year-old son, Alex, served as a witness and signed his name to the marriage certificate.

Today, April 18, 2015, Gov. Walker said same-sex marriage is a "personal issue."

This is compelling evidence that Governor Scott Walker is educating himself and evolving on this vital issue. He always impressed me as a fiscal conservative and not a narrow minded bible thumping screwball. But all the leftist lunatics will ignore this and continue on being blind sycophants for the hapless Hillary ho.

I'm not so sure that I would take this as an endorsement, or evidence that he is necessarily "evolving". It was more just him supporting a member of the family. Until a candidate can not add that they think marriage is "defined by a man and a woman" I will not really trust them. Hopefully, the SCOTUS will decide this tired old argument once and for all and we can move on because it's really becoming a boring subject.

It may be "personal", but it isn't an "issue" to many, but I hazard to guess it is to him and many of the right wingers.

Is that like, 'It's good for me and mine but I'll deny it for others'?

    Like so:

“Tonette and I and our family already had a family member who’s had a reception. I haven’t been to a wedding. That’s true even though my position on marriage is still that’s defined between a man and a woman, and I support the Constitution of the state. But for someone I love, we’ve been at a reception.”

Isn't this guy running for Prezzy?

...and right after the relative got married, ban hammer on marriages for gays.

The Walkers’ then-19-year-old son, Alex, served as a witness and signed his name to the marriage certificate. The marriage occurred after a federal judge struck down the state’s ban on gay marriages; soon after, the judge put a halt to those marriages while the ruling was appealed."

This is a surprisingly libertarian statement coming from an individual who is seeking the nomination from a party that opposes virtually all forms of government regulation...unless of course the regulation concerns women's control of their own bodies, gay rights and relationships, minority rights, and suppresses science.

No I am not gullible. Anything is possible. You just cannot stand the idea of any republican taking a step back and thinking over their positions on vital issues and slowly but steadily changing their ideas and policies. You are afraid that the corrupt, incompetent Democratic Party could possibly face increasingly stiff competition from both the GOP and independents in reaching out to all walks of life. That just rankles you to no end. Oh well, life goes on.

You may have hit the notion he is attempting. It's calculated....certainly not by accident.

The only thing that matters is what political position they support. All the rest is talk, bullshit and pandering. If a pol hasn't converted to gay-friendly positions by now with more than half of all Americans supporting it, then they are in effect declaring that they're fine selling us down the river in order to advance their power base. I'm sick of right wingers picking whole segments of the population to abuse because they need to to get power. And money. Fuck 'em.

Well gay liberals, here they are on a river:

    President+Bill+Clinton+and+Hillary+Clint

And here they are selling us out by taking millions of dollars in donations from an Islamic Sultan and other Islamic countries who stone gays to death:

    Exactly right.
Walker says in the same article that he does not believe in equality for gay Americans.
Are we supposed to be celebrating because he "lowered" himself to attend a wedding reception with those dirty gay people?
    The whole idea is offensive.
If he can't support our equality as American citizens, I don't want to hear his doubletalk.

Hey mx5, your post is unrelated. Hillary and Bill aren't endorsing positions intended to harm us. Besides, it's the Republicans who advocate secrecy in donors and oppose finance reform. Hillary has taken a progressive position on both. Until you people agree to reform, I don't blame her for playing by your rules.

Wow you have a fucked up or tremendously selective memory.

What about the Clinton White House caught in 1996 taking huge campaign funds from China that came through the Commerce Secretary and Al Gore? All the big name players had been guests of the Clintons. something like 100 nonexistent immigrant dishwashers in SF's Chinatown supposedly donated $1000 each to the fund. There were several convictions and from what I remember a huge number of Chinese nationals who got out of the US literally overnight once the scandal broke.

I bet you don't remember a guy named Peter Paul do you? He was the former drug runner turned movie producer the Hillary had vetted before they became friends with him and got involved with him as her Senate campaign's #1 Hollywood fundraiser. Through Paul the Clintons took in hundreds of thousands in funds from Asian nations (ILLEGAL!) The Cuntons denied ever meeting Paul even though there were loads of pictures and videos to prove it. It led to THE LARGEST FINE ever from the FEC for violations in fundraising.

watch this news clip and catch the bitch telling Peter Paul why she quit using email.. and make a short syllogism about the fuckin email server she and Bill had in the closet.

And exactly how much foreign money has been funneled into this supposed charitable organization she and Bill are fronting for?

You are so full of anger and hate that you can't think. Which is what you get watching FOX all the time, which I'm sure you do. If you can still piece things together if I speak slowly enough, try reading my post before you write epistles of unrelated bullshit. The topic is about you Right Wingers writing laws to hurt us, not campaign contributions. But just one thought on your fundraising issue, I love the way you madmen look at the Clinton Global Initiative and see something sinister. I don't doubt money did flow into the fund from all sorts of sources, some probably sketchy, but look at the great work being done by it as well as the great gathering of minds to attack a serious global need. Then contrast that with what the Bushes have done since leaving the White House. They've done nothing but fundraise for themselves which pretty much sums up the difference in the two parties.

'I'm not racist, some of my friends are black' becomes I'm not homophobic, I've been to a gay wedding/ got gay friends/ etc. But I don't think they deserve equal rights.

So an undereducated, slack-jawed union-buster "deigned" to attend a 'homo' wedding reception. And I'm supposed to smile?

    Bitch please.

LOL~~~~!!!!!!!!!!! You are so full of shit it's ridiculous.

Where the F**K do you liberal snot bags get the dummass idea you can attack a person who presents facts you don't like and the facts will change?

I love the way you show what a real low life ignorant scum bag you are trying to justify what the Clintons have done and are still doing with these words, "I don't doubt money did flow into the fund from all sorts of sources, some probably sketchy, but look at the great work being done by it as well as the great gathering of minds to attack a serious global need."

The Clintons have never been and never will be involved in anything that wasn't first and foremost to their own particular self interests. So don't after you concede that "you have no doubts about the origins of some of the money" taken in by the Clintons don't sit there and try to make them out as some sort of political saints doing great work with money from people who are giving it to them strictly quid pro quo. Maybe you are stupid enough to believe your bullshit but it insults many of us that you expect us to believe it.

But keep it up skinny lying ballerina boy. Let's make sure everyone sees what a screwed up pile of runny cat shit you really are.
