So recently a lot of things have been going on in my life. I was going to go into the army bit they found out about my mental health record. So I got a job in atl and I move this Friday

I was just wondering if anyone who lived there could tell me about the arts and gay scenes.

They have a gay area in midtown between 4th street and north past 10th street and Peidmont Park area and there are plenty of clubs, etc. Just look for the "david" magazine that is free in most shops and clubs around the area that gives allot of info. I live 25 miles north, so i cant tell you about housing and stuff like that. Ga Tech is right in middle of it.

So the gay community is concentrated in one area?

I used to live there, beautiful city. Midtown area where the center of the gay community is located its very nice and trendy, but pricey but that's in all big cities; being at the center of the action doesn't come cheap. A lot of big corporations headquarters like Home Depot, ATT, Delta Airlines are based in Atlanta

There are a lot of interesting cultural venues such as one of the biggest aquariums in the world, Fox Theatre and Margaret Mitchel's Gone with the wind house/museum just to mention a few.

The nightlife has changed drastically; the party town Atlanta was in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s its pretty much gone. The GOP controlled house and state senate have gone out of their way to make it miserable for bar owners and the argument its the risen violent crimes in urban areas being spread out through other parts of the city , if they sell liquor they also have to purchase a food license, bars close early (shortly past midnight)

Traffic within the city is horrible during rush hour, very old and narrow roads.

Overall its a not a bad place to live if you are a young professional with a decent career.
