Anti-Gay Activists: We Are Prepared To Die To Fight Gay Marriage 'Slavery'

Boynes: Gay Marriage Sends Us Back To Slavery

Preacher Rick Scarborough said that he is prepared to die over the marriage debate.

Jackson, who was the 2013 Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia, added that gay marriage is “sowing the seeds of our eternal destruction” as it is removing people's reliance on God’s truth. “We will give our lives standing for the truth,” he said.

Janet Boynes, an ex-gay activist, also warned that the Supreme Court will try to send people “back to slavery” by ruling in favor of marriage equality

They're threatening us with their death?

Seems a mixed message. I'm confused. Are we supposed to be scared or celebrate?

They might be doing this wrong. Don't most death threats come with instructions?

The other thing odd is how on the one hand they are trying to say that gay people are issuing them death threats when they demand the right to discriminate against us while at the same time threatening that they are willing to die to keep us from gaining our rights.

Again, I'm confused. They seem to be fighting both sides of that war. What war? We've already won. They should have started killing themselves years ago before we got this far. By now we're sitting in our living rooms serving cocktails while we await the Supremes to endow us our human rights, and they're what, out bloodletting for Jesus? Someone should make them a margarita.

OMG, you're right, isn't this how Jim Jones and David Koresh are created and took their followers with them? I mean this type martyrdom isn't new. It just shows the power of suggestion to the uneducated mind, people who cant think for themselves and are taken advantage of by the sociopathic criminal minds within a religion or cult. keep bullying the conservatives all over but don't tell me i don't told you so when some weird and violent religious nuts start an attack on the liberal sides in a violent way regularly just like you-know-who did that all over the world...oh wait, christians hardly do that to 'revenge' in the modern world...this is exactly why the left wing tried to took advantage of their 'oh they're christians , we can shout loud more than them and they won't do nothing to us other than ' jesus loves you' 'jesus don't judge people'.

i think they're actually quite tolerate and i applaud them for that knowing how the super bias liberal media always threw hateful tantrums towards them...and this is exactly the reason why muslim terrorists attack some countries because they just won't stop bullying the muslims.

talking about 'equality'...there needs to be a balance always as long as you live with different diverse group in this world but for now, being brainwashed by liberalism is all we got and the

I'm not surprised. I've been trying to tell people for years the fundamentalists would eventually get to this point. It's not just hyperbole to them when they say they are willing to give their lives. They mean it.

Fundamentalists only comprise 9% of the US population and are rapidly showing they have the potential of becoming the equivalent of a Christian Taliban.

This issue goes way back even before gay marriage came about. They've known for two decades that fundamentalism is slowly going extinct. Their own children are leaving their fundamentalist churches faster than they can fuck to make more of them.

I've posted this link a few times in here. It's a survey done by fundamentalists about the state of their beliefs and how they fit into US society.

Oh Yikes. Koresh. I'd already forgotten his name. I sure remember Waco though, that was sad. And I still remember Jonestown. I was in college. That was freaky horrifying: our wake-up call to how stupid people can be. And then there was the other one, Heaven's Gate for the ultimate idiot. Didn't they die to catch a ride on a UFO or some shit? Fucking crazies.

I've reported on another thread a social experiment I did in college, not academic, just partying on my own one night when some guy tried proselytizing to me but wound up thinking I was Jesus, following me around campus until I finally had played with that enough, turned and told him, look man, I'm just a poet. Leave me be.

These guys though seem to be posing as Jihadists for Jesus only I doubt they've the balls for it. These aren't crusaders at the forefront of a fight or they'd have been dropping dead the whole time with not just threats, but unprotested funerals. So to me, this seems petty shit seeping out of the woodwork under the weight of our great steps. Some last minute dramatics for increased book sales. They want to portray themselves as God's soldiers while they cower behind God's petticoat. They can go fuck themselves.

Though should anyone take their words to heart and cause some pain, I'd love to see the douchebags made accountable. Because the only scary part is how easily people can be mislead.

"Don't deny me my first amendment right to propagate the gospel...why I will die if I have to for what I believe."

So, at least, if someone dies by this guy's words, they ought to be fined for false advertising. This is bullshit.

Having dealt with them up close and personal for the last 37 years in a city where they have one huge fundamentalist "college" and one smaller one that's totally outrageous. I've seen what violence they are capable of: 2 murders, 2 bombings, one arson, and innumerable acts of vandalism to gay owned businesses and automobiles, and assaults.

Is it any wonder that many gays here have concealed carry licenses for handguns?

I keep up with fundamentalist news because of an old quote from Sun Tzu:

If you know yourself but not your enemy, find level of loss and victory.
Know thy enemy but not yourself, wallow in defeat every time.❞

It's as important to know "ourselves" as it is to know the fundamentalists not for what we think we are or they are but for what we really are.

They don't do this. They are fighting against a "gay army in league with Satan" that only exists in their collective imaginations. If "we" were as organized as gays were in the 1970s we could exploit this weakness of theirs and change this entire discussion in less than three months.

But partisan politics set the pace for dividing gays that will have us groveling to the very people who make their livings dividing and manipulating people to help us when/if any violence starts.

There are other ways and they don't include violence on our part... just smarts, organization and lack of division.

Christians particularly in the US don't have a history of sacrificing their lives in their acts of terrorism. There was never a bomber of an abortion clinic or gay bar who intentionally stuck around for the explosion.

I can't think of any US Christian who has ever set himself on fire as an act of protest.

If/when they do start violence it will most likely follow their historical pattern. it's one step up from throwing toilet paper in someone's trees. Instead they'll be using molotov cocktails or plastic explosives and then running like high school pranksters.

Be safe and take them at their word.
Don't hesitate to contact police to report suspicious activity so it is documented. Take tag numbers of suspicious cars around gay businesses and bars in case something occurs. Also remember to report anything that constitutes a hate crime involving a fundamentalist church or church member to SPLC.
    http://www.splcenter.org/what-we-do/hate-and-extremism

This talk about violence from fundamentalists hasn't just started. It's been going on at least 6 years. The super fucktard, Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association has been talking about it so much on his radio show the SPLC and the US Army have labeled the AFA a hate group.

Here a video on AFA from over a year ago. Watch the short Fox News report at the beginning of the video to get their totally ignorant spin on it. Thunderfoot put the entire video together.

The psychotic preacher, Kent Hovind gets out of prison this year... expect him to jump back up in the middle of the hate mongering.

This is how conservative extremists stir up violence among the mentally unbalanced. Then after the violence, the conservatives will all claim innocence and claim "we never meant for anyone to get hurt!"

Put the blame where it belongs: American Fundamentalist Christianity.

AFCs might hide behind political conservatism and try to use it as their mouthpiece but there's never been a political conservative who promoted bombing abortion clinics or shooting people who worked in them.

Right now we have ministers and laymen in AFC, like Bryan Fischer saying the gay problem will be settled "by ballots or bullets." You won't hear that from a politician.

While am not in disagreement with you Bob, historically, Republicans are not blameless in inflaming murderous attitude against gays. Here is a recount.

NYT: On the same day Americans learned that Matthew Shepard, a 5-foot-2, 105-pound gay college student, had been tortured, strung up like an animal and left to die on a fence outside Laramie, Wyo., the Family Research Council was co-hosting a press conference in Washington. It was the latest salvo in a six-month campaign by the religious right, with the tacit, even explicit, approval of Republican leaders, to demonize gay people for political gain in this election year.

The head of the Family Research Council is Gary Bauer, a G.O.P. power broker and putative Presidential candidate, who disingenuously goes on talk shows to say that his organization hates no one and deplores violence.

Two weeks after James Byrd was savagely dragged to his death from a pickup truck in Texas, an ugly incident occurred outside the G.O.P. state convention in Fort Worth, where a mob threatened a group of gay Log Cabin Republicans who were protesting discriminatory treatment by their own party. The gay-bashers had been directly preceded by steady saber-rattling from Republican politicians.

Just two days after this near-brush with violence in Fort Worth, Trent Lott was on TV seconding the religious right's condemnation of gay people as sinful and sick.

I didn't make my distinction as clear as I thought.

You mentioned Trent Lott. He's a Mississippi Southern Baptist, a fundamentalist. To him, and any other fundamentalist who happens to be a politician, they identify as a fundamentalist first and foremost, and a member of a political party second. Trent Lott started as a Democrat and switched to be a Republican. Try and get him to switch denominations.
    Does that make sense now?

Before the movement for gay marriage became a front burner issue it was hard to find a politician who was Presbyterian, Episcopal, Lutheran or any of the other mainstream protestant denominations who would have said anything like Trent Lott would have said the way Lott would have said it.

Some of the politicians in mainstream denominations may be as anti-gay as Lott but they'd be more careful with their words... in most cases. There are exceptions to everything.

Here's a great quote to show exactly how fucking unbelievably stupid fundamentalist ministers are... and since the asshole is a South Dakota state representative ... how unbelievably dangerous they are in politics...

This fucker's name is Reverend or Representative Steve Hickey.

Hickey told the AP that “religious rights need to continue to trump gay rights” in order to prevent the country from “heading down the road to Iran,” an odd argument since Iran is a theocracy in which gay people can face flogging or the death penalty.

Hickey, pastor of a Sioux Falls church, said a court ruling legalizing gay marriage in South Dakota might expose him to lawsuits or prosecution because he believes in traditional marriage between a man and a woman.

“Religious rights need to continue to trump gay rights. Otherwise, we’re heading down the road of Iran, where it’s convert or die, be quiet or die,” Hickey said. “If we want to talk about church and state, this is a bill that keeps the state out of my church.”
