So has Bruce Jenner been gay his whole life? I'm confused.

If he wanted to be a woman does that mean he wanted to be with men? Where are his boyfriends?

I suggest doing some reading about trans people.

Jenner didn't close down the possibility of being with men but said he never has been with a guy. It is a bit confusing. If he's always felt like his true identity was female, did that not include sexual interest?

transgender same sex attraction all the time.

It's a bit mind boggling. It's something that's easier to accept at face value and not spend too much time trying to understand.

From what I read he implied during his interview that he was still attracted to women. I don't get it either.

Jenner says he isn't gay. I don't fully understand all these sexual permutations. But neither do I automatically dismiss those I don't recognize.

I guess he is an old maid type woman then. His femininity not being sexual. Hard to understand that.

I wrote this about my transgender cousin, a prestigious attorney married to a law professor who underwent his transition in the late 1990s until 2002. (and did it with a panache that will be remembered in the legal world for maybe a century)

He and his wife remained together but moved 1200 miles away to start a new life until he died last month. They even got remarried in a ceremony in which my cousin wore a dynamic over-the-top wedding dress and his wife wore a tux.

It's best not to try to understand everything... There are some boggling contradictions that are an endless maze of rabbit holes if you delve into them too deeply trying to understand them. Just accept them at face value and move on.

As for what my cousin did... a GREAT story...

In 1999 a judge assigned my cousin to defend a man who'd killed a well known but not widely "out" gay realtor, cut him up in pieces that he hid throughout the man's house.

After speaking with the murderer my cousin asked the judge to appoint someone else to defend him. The judge denied the request.

My cousin made a second request. The judge denied that one too.

So at a court hearing my 6'6" lanky boney cousin showed up in his best attire, dressed as his female identity, purse and size 14 heels.... The judge was exceedingly happy to assign the murderer a new attorney.

If you don't believe it... just look up and contact a few attorneys in Montgomery Alabama. They're still talking about it.

I prefer him as a man, but of course, it is up to him who he wants to be.

Very interesting story. And I think you're right about not trying to understand everything ... ultimately we can't truly know how others encounter and move through their lives. (Which is also why I get really rankled by the rigidness of those who require that everyone has to "come out" in the "approved" way ... but I digress.)

Didn't hear the interview, but he/she is what he is. Maybe he will become a lesbian. Time will tell.

pazzy saidgender identity is different from sexual orientation. just because he identifies as a woman doesn't mean that he wants to date men. he said it out his own mouth that he isn't gay. that would basically mean that since he identities as a woman, he's a lesbian since "she" likes women.

I guess that it's and that is understandable . He is a lesbian because he is not into the male energy at all.

YUP.... Not to digress even further but in the subject you raised in your comment... One thing I have always laughed about is how so many gays have trouble comprehending the existence of truly bisexual men. It's like the envision sexuality as a two choice menu.

Some of that may be due to so many young people claiming to be bisexual on their way towards accepting themselves as being gay..

But that's another rabbit hole I really don't want to go down just for my own curiosity.

Guess maybe I was wrong in assuming that most f-t-m's start out as lesbians, which also begged the question that once they transitioned to male did that make them straight?

I think so that is why I don't support the T in GLBT.

I think he's a man who is now a woman (wanna be) and will have a female companion who is lesbian!

My view is he' so used to the lime light of all the attention over the years from super athlete to reality star that he needs this as a continuum for the adrenalin rush.

I also think that his declining testosterone and more happened over the years. WHY?

Many reasons why??? Maybe he had testicular cancer and never told anyone and so maybe a woman is a better way of preservation......A theory!

    ODD for sure!

So Bruce Jender will now be a lesbian (question I posed in another thread)?

True, I eschew labels, but still curious because most don't. What is he considered now if he still likes women? This is where it all gets CORNfusing.

You better get on the Politically Correct Update mailing list....

It's now... LGBTTQQIAAP (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, ally, panssexual)

Or if you prefer... "FABGLITTER" from fetish (such as the BDSM community), allies or poly-amorous (as in polyamorous relationships), bisexual, gay, lesbian, intersexed, transgender, transsexual engendering revolution or inter-racial attraction.

Or even... The Wesleyan University acronym "LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM" for "lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, flexual, asexual, gender-fuck, polyamorous, bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism".

Some people prefer QUILTBAG (queer and questioning, intersex, lesbian, transgender and two-spirit, bisexual, asexual and ally, and gay and genderqueer)

LGBTIH has seen use in India to encompass the hijra third gender identity and the related subculture.

At this time there's an open debate about adding "U" for "unsure"; a "C" for "curious"; another "T" for "transvestite"; a "TS", or "2" for "two-spirit" persons; and/or an "SA" for "straight allies". Some may also add a "P" for "polyamorous", an "H" for "HIV-affected", and/or an "O" for "other".

Please make a note of these updates and make an effort to be more sensitive to the personal drama and identities of everyone with any sort of friggin initial to go with their predilections.

Maybe he's just depressed and confused? I don't know. I don't think he confirmed that he would have the surgery. I just hope it doesn't turn out like the situation with Mike Penner, the LA Times sports columnist who famously announced in the paper that he was going to transition to female, did so, then when back to being a man, and finally committed suicide.

I read somewhere about an hour ago (now I can't find it) that he 'came out' about his situation to Linda Thompson, his second wife, back in the 80s so he's lived with this for 30+ years.

    Ok, I found it

    Bob3:

You call people "nasty fat ass queens" (homophobic), "sissy ballerinas" (transphobic, homophobic, misogynistic), and "queer" (homophobic).

You're also just a generally vile person, and your odd use of fonts/colors is symbolic of the lunacy you spew.

You fool no one. You have revealed yourself.

You're antigay, as your comments and pejorative insults indicate. Care to LIE and claim you didn't say that hate speech?

ADDRESS YOUR UNABASHED BIGOTRY. You claimed to be a gay civil rights advocate...Harvey Milk you are NOT. I spit on your profile picture. You don't deserve to place flowers on Milk's grave.

I just got an email back from the sister of my TG cousin mentioned in my comments above about what she understood about the sexual orientation of TG people since she delved into it to better understand her own brother/sister.

Brace yourself guys. The answer is so danged obvious you'll have a V8 moment.

Sexual orientation of adult transgendered people doesn't change with or due to sexual reassignment surgery. Gay transgendered men remain attracted to men. Straight transgendered men remain attracted to women. Make sense?

    It does to me!

But it leaves something else to ponder.
Now there are FOUR different sub species of transgendered people (instead of two) who need to be included in the LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM equation.

    TG m2f gay
    TG m2f straight
    TG f2m lesbian
    TG f2m straight

I told you it was a rabbit hole we didn't want to go down. LOL!!!!

EDIT: After reading MuchMoreThanMuscles' comment below we have to add to the sub species of Transgender flavors bringing the total to SIX....

    TG m2f bisexual
    TG f2m bisexual

The rabbit hole just gets deeper and more mysteriouser....

Could there actually be asexual transgender people? That adds 2 more flavors.

    Transgender questioning?

    Transgender 2 spirited?
