Hmmm...maybe we should just have a big religious killing spree.

Let's start with the people who've cursed at their father or mother.

    Leviticus 20:9
“Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head."

Then we'll move on to the tarot card readers and psychics.

    Leviticus 20:27
"A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads."

Then we'll move on to the most common one among straight people.

    Leviticus 20:10
"If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death."

That should be enough killing for now. Let me know if you have any other unwanted groups of people killed, and I'm sure we can find a bible verse that'll keep us out of court for killing them because of "religious freedom." icon_wink.gif

While watching the news clip it became plainly evident that Pastor Lee is incapable of independent thought. His logic, justifications, and world view are limited to those written down 25 centuries ago.

To hate so easily, so thoroughly, with such banal justification is truly a sad thing. What is even more sad is that he might actually have influence over others.

I believe in Jesus, but according to the BIBLE the
wages of sin is death ?? how true !!

Then why is it that this preacher is condemning other
people when HE himself is a sinner ??

I think Jesus once said "He has no SIN be the first
to cast the stone at the prostitute"

and yet, they all walked away one by one COS they
    knew they were all sinners.....

    two challenges to that:
    1) Jesus himself was described to be in the company of his followers, who were all men, and was rarely seen alone with a woman.

2)What does the text say in the original bible? not the revised versions already out today.

It's always so sad to see those who suffered in the name of religion, turn around and use that same book of myths and fairytale to make others suffer.

Yes, these people are ignorant, but they have the power of the republican party and their corporate overlords behind them. Already they have managed to pass several Jim Crow style laws against us with barely a wimper of opposition from the mainstream media or public. We need to be louder and ban together or people like this will come after us even more.

Just remember what this pastor feels is intolerance for a people who are different from him.
If it was not homosexuals, it would be Latinos, if there would be no Latinos it would be Jews etc.
The list goes on and on. I do feel society is becoming more tolerant as a whole though as time progresses.
Lets remember this pastor the next time we show intolerance or prejudice against someone.

...They should not hump, XX, oh I mean thump, their bibles quite so vigorously on that one; after all, their famous Nazarene Was Gay! They used to hang around in 12's & 13's; now days, they hang around in 2's & 3's. Not much changes in the world! Besides that, it says right in their bible:

    "He Loved His Fellow Man."

Anytime someone has truly wanted a debate with me on the religious principles supposedly behind the anti-gay dogma... And i say Truly as in want to have a rational discussion and not a bunch of screaming pontification... I can usually win with 3 distinct lines...

    1) pointing out the other "abominations" listed in Leviticus and how so many of them are utterly disregarded now. Eating pork, eating shellfish, tattoos, women who wear pants, men who shave, etc etc... If that doesn't phase them and they keep going on about "god's law"...

    2) the bible was written by men. Not god. The only thing god was ever credited with writing directly were 10 bullet points on some stone tablets... None of those 10 say anything about hating the gays. Then they ususally turn from "old world" to "new world" and talk about the teachings of Christ...

    3) i ask them "what did J Christ say and teach about the gays?" They can find no parable or passage. If i'm in a mocking mood i'll tease that all of christ's words in the bible are written in red... So find me the line... And of course they cant.

Exactly. You know, it doesn't take a whole lot to become a pastor of a certain kind of 'church'. $35.00 for a cheap certificate, and about ten folding chairs in your garage, and you've got yourself a 'church'. Words and opinions from 'pastors' like this clown should be dismissed entirely.

...and therein lies the problem. Ignoring won't make it just go away. Some people say this is 'just an isolated example or incident' except these incidents/examples have become legion. You also have the Michelle Bachmanns and Ann Coulters and Ted Cruzes etc empowering these pastors.

There are a whole lot of people with different viewpoints in the world. Many people like this pastor may be seriously mentally ill. We can't fix or change or even help them all come around to a sensible way of thinking. The "problem" is trying to make everybody think or do things our way. It is never going to happen. That's why people like this pastor - his twisted thoughts - should be dismissed entirely. He isn't going to come around and realize the errors in his thinking. We need to pay attention to the best and brightest people in the world, not disturbed individuals of this ilk.

I don't agree...none of the above mentioned have the power or popularity to "empower" anybody. These pastors aren't empowered. If anything, they are loathed...and they put themselves there.

Then if not empower, how about "legitimize"? When national figures with large followings are bashing gays, that's legitimizing these upstart "Pastors" to spew their vile homophobic rants.

And please don't try to tell us that Bachmann, Coulter and Cruz don't have large followings. Especially Cruz. He's being promoted for President, and may win the Republican Party nomination.

You're kidding, right. When HELL freezes over is Cruz getting the GOP nomination. He has a following of loud crazies...far short of the numbers needed to call him "popular"

Once again, we have some stupid story on here about some podunk hick pastor and his insane reading of the Bible. Milledgeville is in the middle of nowhere in GA, and frankly there is NOTHING he can say or do to that will make anybody follow his "teaching".

The fact of the matter is that this is all about just finding somebody that is considered right-wing or conservative, and making them out to be the greatest evil against homosexuals.

There are few if any postings on here about the stoning of homosexuals in Iran, or gay people thrown off rooftops in ISIS controlled lands, or anywhere else in the Islamic World. Until any of you decide that they are actually worth condemning before idiots like this pastor...STFU!
