What region of Kansas did these early school closings occur, in the more populous eastern half or in the rural, sparsely settled western half. The reason why I am asking this somewhat awkward question because the rural western counties of Kansas are suffering a population decline and those areas are predominately elderly white or Native American. A similar situation with aging, declining rural populations exists in the western regions of Oklahoma, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

Bob, This is the work of GOP Gov. Brownback. Like Gov. Jindal, he is destroying Kansas, the heartland of our country.
