LA TimesTwo gunmen were killed and a security guard wounded in an attack Sunday outside a controversial Dallas-area event where organizers were holding a contest for cartoons featuring the Muslim prophet Muhammad, police said.

The attack lasted just seconds, police said. One of the gunmen was shot immediately by police, and the other was shot and killed when he reached for a backpack, leading police to fear the men may have brought explosives, Athas said.

After the shooting, Geller posted an outraged statement on her blog. “This is a war,” she wrote. “This is war on free speech. What are we going to do? Are we going to surrender to these monsters?”

After the attack, the “AbuHussainAlBritani” account began tweeting praise of the Texas shooting, and linked the attack to the militant group Islamic State.

“Allahu Akbar!!!!! 2 of our brothers just opened fire at the ... art exhibition in texas!”
the account tweeted. “Kill Those That Insult The Prophet.”

“They Thought They Was Safe In Texas From The Soldiers of The Islamic State,” the account tweeted.

He forgot that Texas is the nation's most backward, intolerant, religiously conservative state. It is the hot, featureless land of oil wells, pecan trees, pick up trucks, suburban sprawl, and narrow minded bible thumping screwballs.

In other words, not altogether dissimilar to the Islamic State.

If Texas were the "best State" these 2 would have been captured alive. To learn more about them, and any other terrorists with whom they were associated who might be plotting additional attacks. That's what would have been "best".

Committing violence because people who aren't members of your religion were disrespecting your Prophet is heinous, to be sure.

The event, however, was an abuse of the First Amendment. I might feel differently if the event didn't single out Islam.

That might take some water boarding though.

Torture, according to most experts, is NOT an effective method of interrogation because captives will say ANYTHING to make the pain/torture stop, which leads to FALSE intelligence. It's axiomatic that false intelligence is NOT actionable and, in fact, use a burden that jeopardizes the mission, uses valuable resources, and is otherwise an all-around waste of time.

Let's focus on EFFECTIVE methods of interrogation, which are primarily mental and psychologically based.

That's rather sick. Not to mention illegal by international covention.
