NYT: Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, who are seeking the Republican presidential nomination, have been running against Congress since they first ran for it. And plenty of other Republican contenders share their contempt.

There are some great quotes in this article.... entitled
"Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, Senators Both, Lead Republican Attacks on Congress"

This quote is worth remembering in reference to the rest
Disparaging Congress is nothing new in today’s Republican Party, which has thrived on a hearty strain of antigovernment, anti-establishment intensity.

Here's the quote "proving" Ted Cruz is attacking Congress.
Washington is broken. Trust me, I’ve seen it firsthand,” Senator Ted Cruz of Texas often says, whether on the Senate floor or at rallies in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Mr. Cruz’s diagnosis can vary slightly: Sometimes Washington is “profoundly broken”; other times it is “fundamentally broken.”

Here's that mean spirited Rand Paul attacking Congress
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky prefers “horribly broken.” But he does not stop there. His campaign slogan for president is “Defeat the Washington Machine.

And here's what NYT writes Jeremy Peters said in his own article about Republicans attacking Congress
As Congress produces fewer significant legislative achievements and falls deeper into disfavor with the American public – 80 percent disapproval, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News Poll — many lawmakers are finding they have little to brag about.

Mr. Peters writes that even the Queen of the Democratic party has some issues with Congress...
Instead of flaunting their Senate posts as a mark of experience and statesmanship in running for president, as Bob Dole did in 1996 and Hillary Rodham Clinton did in 2008, now they run from it.

Maybe Congress should sue Rand Paul for this hateful mean spirited attack
Mr. Paul even recently cleansed his Twitter handle: What was @SenRandPaul is now just @RandPaul. “I have been to Washington, and let me tell you there is no monopoly of knowledge there,” he tells audiences.

This man needs to be put in jail for insulting Congress
Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor who announced his candidacy on Tuesday, called Washington a “roach motel.”

The most insulting thing of all said about Congress
Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin dismisses the capital as “68 square miles surrounded by reality.

Did you notice the word "Congress" was not in any of the quotes from the Republicans he says are attacking Congress?

    None.

The GOP-controlled Congress is doing just fine, TYVM! Sometimes the best way to govern is to simply say "NO!" Even/especially Obama knows that.

I didn't even address the OP's assertion that the GOP has made Congress unworkable which is a BOLD FACE worn out talking points lie.

MGINSD covered that... Nothing but temper tantrum- whiney ass shit I laughed at my sons about when they griped about parental authority... The people voted for more Republicans than Democrats... so STFU with the whining.

Sure because the status quo is so awesome. Why anyone would support it is beyond me, but both parties do. That should tell us all we need to know about congress.
