This is a ridiculous typically NEW YORK TIMES-type of story. Of course Jeb Bush would get advice from his brother...and his father for that matter...both former Presidents with considerable middle east knowledge and experience. I have absolutely no problem with that. In fact, I'd have a problem if he didn't turn to them for advice.

It's not that Dubya isn't knowledgeable about the Middle East.

He knows tons about the Middle East.

The prob is just that he went in and fucked up things so badly in practice that he really ought not to be a sought after giver of advice on any questioning containing the words 'what should i do' when it comes to the region.

Jeb knows this. He's looking to beef up his cred with the fundamentalist bloc that wishes to Christianize the ME. It's all about dem votes.

    He's a moron.

By the way, if Jeb somehow does get the nomination, his quote about George W. being his advisor on the middle east will be used in literally thousands of ads against Jeb.
George W. Bush is toxic waste.
America knows the Iraq War was a disaster that they never want to repeat, so Jeb has handed the Democrats the PERFECT weapon to use against him.

IAmazeMyself saidIf Jeb Bush wants his brother's opinion on the Middle East he should ask Dick Cheney.

LOL. And for his father's opinion he should ask James Baker?

I think what we'll hear more is how Jeb Bush is one of the original Neo-Cons who outlined what would become GW Bush's Middle East policy. The report, "Rebuilding America's Defenses" from The Project For A New American Century (PNAC) called for a global expansion of our military ready to fight wars on at least two fronts, and suggested that a "catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor" would help expedite this process. This report was signed by many familiar names including Donald Rumsfeld, Scooter Libby, William Bennett, Dick Cheney, William Kristol, and, of course, Jeb Bush.

It seems just as likely that GW was taking his cues from Jeb as it is the other way around. In any case, Jeb is a neo-con who would take us back to Iraq if he could, or worse, and I thought we were all done with the neo-cons.

Jeb Bush Said on Fox News He Would Invade Iraq

NYT: Asked on Fox News (in an interview to be aired tonight) if he would have authorized the invasion of Iraq, knowing what the world now knows, Jeb Bush replied: “I would have and so would have Hillary Clinton, just to remind everybody. And so would almost everybody that was confronted with the intelligence they got.”
