There Are 5 Million Fewer Christians In America Today – Why That Should Terrify The GOP

"In just seven short years the number of people identifying as Christian has dropped immensely, and the number of people who refuse to belong to an organized religion – or believe in God – is growing dramatically."

In the 2000s the GOP had a good run, it was a nice showing. Where can we send flowers and condolences?

Hmmm and who won control of the House and Senate in November. Oh, that's right, Republicans. That's a lot more than a good run.

    ^^^ good call, Say_so030.
In the real world, dropping religious affiliations isn't synonymous with abandoning political beliefs. All it means is lots of people are becoming fed up with the cat-fucking fungi-mentalist and evanjaculator hypocristians and are voting with their feet and wallets. They most likely haven't changed their core religious beliefs, but just decided not to associate with people they'd be ashamed for their Monday through Saturday friends to meet.

And the hilarious aspect of this is that the the cat-fucking fungi-mentalist and evanjaculator hypocristians do not have the first clue that they are the entire friggin reason people are abandoning them. They are blaming it on anyone but their own self righteous asses. I hope they don't wise up and change their game plan!

The GOP ALREADY had control of the House in November 2014, but the point is taken. They increased control and did, in fact, take control of the Senate. This is a direct result of GOP gerrymandering in 2010 and low Dem turnout because it was an "off" (i.e., a non Presidential election) year.

Let's see what happens in 2016. The GOP is a Congressional only party because of their extremism and fundamentalism, and the Blue Wall makes it nearly impossible for ANY GOP candidate to win a Presidential election for the foreseeable political future.

    We'll see come November 2016.

Although not the topic of the thread.

How does one win control of the Senate by gerrymandering? A WHOLE STATE votes for a senator.

Speaking of Gerrymandering... here's Democrat Luis Gutierrez's district in Chicago.

Your imaginary blue wall does not make it impossible for the GOP to regain the White House in 2016 that is if the GOP stops pandering to all the narrow minded bible thumping screwballs and become a more inclusive and accepting political party. You keep living in your fantasyland of some high blue wall bunky. If the democrats are stupid enough to nominate the hapless Hillary ho than the republicans will have their chances of gaining the White House greatly enhanced. The democrats better wake up and find a more suitable, qualified, and trustworthy candidate and reject the hapless Hillary ho. Otherwise you might be looking at a republican in the White House after 2016.

Correct. Gerrymandering only applies to House districts, which is something I thought was obvious on its face and didn't need clarification. Because of this, I didn't include signal words. I suppose I could have included the words former/latter as follows: "The former [i.e., the House increase] a direct result of GOP gerrymandering of districts in 2010, and the latter [i.e., the Senate take-over] because of low Dem turnout since it was an "off" (i.e., a non Presidential election) year.

But again, because it's so obvious gerrymandering is a Congressional district issue, I didn't think I needed to break that down.

Bob3, you call people "sissy," "queer," "queen" and "faggot." Your words are forever saved by others who "cited" your words, so you can't go back and change them. Well, you can, but the cites have documented your BIGOTRY forever.

And you still refuse to apologize for your animus and hate in using those words in a freakin' LGBT forum and community. You're a bigot, and you do more harm for equality than you do benefit. Please do us a favor and cease and desist.

All you have ever done in this thread is throw accusations against people that you cannot prove and everyone knows that now. You've proven that time after time after time. You can yell BIGOT all you queenie little skinny ballerina ass wants to but your words are just empty bullshit.

Please take this opportunity to STFU and go make up more of your desperate bullshit about that imaginary 6'6" USAF pilot boyfriend... or that I said the Clintons having to REFILE taxes.. or any of the other bullshit lies you've told.

All you'll accomplish is making people more sure than ever you're nothing but a sorry nasty lying ass little worm.

Bob3 is clearly getting close to self-immolation - the fonts are getting bigger and the expletives and insults more obscene. How long before the ban hammer falls?

Bitter old queens always ironically ask why no one likes them. Some blame age, some blame looks and many blame a lack of money, but in reality, no one likes to be around a jaded cynic.

Both of you attempt to make lame ass silly attacks on me but neither of you are disputing that Svnw is a prolific liar or attempting to defend him. Alinsky would be proud of you both.

If you looked through the history of how many cultures the christian faith killed off in the world, you too would say "the sooner the better". Some people as well as faiths deserve a taste of there own medicine, don't wipeout a race of people, just for believing differently. . . cross suckers!

The best thing that could ever happen to the GOP is that all the narrow minded bible thumping screwballs started dwindling in numbers which would greatly weaken their iron fist control over the republicans and the red becomes becomes more inclusive to all socioeconomic groups. That would be so sweet.icon_smile.gif

Back on topic.. some thoughts about
"There Are 5 Million Fewer Christians In America Today – Why That Should Terrify The GOP"

Reading the article one thing is clear; that it's based on the faulty premise that people who stop identifying as christians will automatically stop being political conservatives.

This is a typical stereotypification liberals make and I've run into many times. It's evident with questions like,
But if you're gay how can you be a conservative?
But if you're an atheist why do you give money to churches?
But if you're a conservative how can you be against christianity?
But if you support women's rights how can you be a conservative?

Percentage-wise there are probably more atheists and agnostics who self identify as libertarians (true conservatives) than christians.

So trrrrrrrrue. Many of them seem to have an overpowering need to have everyone fit into their nice neat imaginary stereotypes in order to fit in their subjective perceptions of reality. And all of their stereotypes exclude the the existence people who don't participate in "collective mentality." In their perceptions all gays should think alike and failure to do so means you're a self hating homophobe, a racist, a closet case, a hypocrite, a hater.. blah blah blah blah. We've heard it all so many times it's like listening to a fucking herd of parrots. I'll never push the issue that it all boils down to bullying... Fuck it. I'm sure you lose as much sleep over people trying to bully me into thinking like they do... LOL!
